Devil's Breath;
Also known as Scopolamine or Hyoscine.
It's basically the real life version of Bliss.
It's a tropane alkaloid that's used to treat various medical issues like nausea, vomiting, motion sickness, and even muscle spasms. However, it's a hallucinogen that has both a powder and liquid form. Devil's breath is in a class of medications called antimuscarinics.
Overdose is characterized by dilated pupils, flushing, dry skin, absent bowel sounds, rapid heart rate, and altered mental status. It works by blocking the effects of a natural substance, acetylcholine, on the nervous system.
According to medical experts, even just a gram of Devil's Breath powder is enough to kill someone who takes it. Even lower quantities can cause hallucinations, and people who take them can experience a hypnotized state that leaves them vulnerable to various violations.
It is created with;
- Angel's Trumpet / Brugmansia
Known for it's large, trumpet-shaped flowers. They're native to South America, but are also ornamental plants that are popular across the states and other parts of the world since they are both elegant and fairly easy to care for. However, it contains various belladonna alkaloids, which include atropine, hyoscyamine, and scopolamine (which is fuckin devil's breath keep up). The roots and seeds have the highest concentrations of said alkaloids, though ingesting the raw flowers, smoking its leaves, or drinking tea brewed with quite literally any part of the plant can cause nasty side effects. Though, because its widely available, young adults usually use this shit for recreational purposes as a hallucinogen. - Datura / Jimsonweed
- Scopolia Carniolica
- Black Henbane / Hyoscyamus Niger
As you can tell, it's made up of a mixture of poisonous of different plant species.
All of those plants have Scopolamine, as all of which can produce toxic belladonna alkaloid compounds as a form of self-defense.
Shocking no one, Datura and Angel's Trumpet are my favs..?
