Job Posting at the Scarlet Devil Mansion

Devil of the Scarlet Devil Mansion

"So, you've recognized your own inferiority, and it has brought you crawling before me."

The young (looking) vampire sat on her chair, positioned in such a way as to tower over you. Her courtroom was intimidating, long and imperial. Servants clung to the sides of the room as if to avoid being within the vampire's point of view. All of her servants except her most loyal one, standing at her side, ready to spring at a moment's notice.

You kept your head lowered as you plead your case. "Indeed. I am not capable of surviving on my own in this land. I throw myself at your feet, willing to serve eternally." When you had dreamed of coming to Gensokyo, you failed to consider that Gensokyo was in Japan, and thus mostly spoke Japanese. For an English speaker, there was one place which would serve as a safe haven...

But only if your tongue was silver and the master of the mansion in a good mood.

"Please, mistress of the night. Make me yours. Your tool to wield, if you desire. Your tool to break, if you desire. Your tool to possess, if you desire." Thankfully, your RPG experience provided you with a verbose vocabulary. Your purple prose seemed to tickle Remilia's chuuni senses something fierce, keeping her in a good mood.

"Very well. Fate has smiled upon you, outsider. I will indeed take you under my wing, the Scarlet Devil Mansion shall be your new home." The moon shone down from the window behind her, leaving her face in shadow. Despite this, a strange glint in her eyes and a toothy grin seemed to shine bright. "However, I'd like to know something. Just what kind of position do you imagine yourself being in here?"

You thought. Was this a trick question? A feeler? Should you be truthful or stretch the truth? You'd have to ponder your choices here...

[#1] Since I'm from the outside world, I know quite a bit of trivia! And my vocabulary and wit are without match, I'll be the perfect courtier!
[#2] The Scarlet Devil Mansion will want to expand its influence, won't it? I can be quite the spymaster for you!
[] I'm not very good at cleaning at all, but I'll do my best!
[] I'm actually an expert at everything a maid needs to be an expert in! One of the best!
[] Do you need a chef? Because I know so many Western recipes, you'll adore them all!
[] (I could present myself as a courtier, but maybe I should be more romantic about it, charm Remilia...)
[] I've pumped some iron back in my day, make me a bodyguard and no one will dream of challenging this mansion.

Ending #1 - Courtier

Arrogant Lively Princess

[X] Since I'm from the outside world, I know quite a bit of trivia! And my vocabulary and wit are without match, I'll be the perfect courtier!

"Well, Your Excellency, as you know I'm from the outside world,"

"Of course."

"And being so, I've kept quite up to date with all of the news and happenings which have taken place out there."

Remilia gave a puzzled look. "If I was so interested in the news of the outside world, I could easily send for it. Besides, news is a commodity with an expiration date." As she said this, her fingers rapped against the arm of her chair, sparks of magic faintly appearing for a blink of a second with each tap.

"Indeed it is!" You smiled, ignoring the blonde drills that began to border the sides of your vision. You were so thankful you spent so much time watching YouTube video essays and documentaries. Now, they would finally pay off. "However, I've managed to filter through the news, the happenings, and separate the mundane from the fantastic! I've studied a broad variety of subjects, and I know about the most exciting tales!" As your lips did their best to sell your idea to the vampire, they plumped up just slightly, complimenting your now graceful face, pale and without flaw. "Tell me Lady Remilia, are you aware of the men who traveled in a small metallic cube to the bottom of the ocean, only to be met with their own hubris? I know not just of them, but the lead-up to their tragedy! History as well! Caesar, how elephants secured his victory, how he wept for his enemy and friend, I know much of his tales!"

Remilia pondered, her eyes looking you up and down. Your hips had grown quite wide since you had entered her view, with plump thighs and a soft rear showing a more fine upbringing than you had before. "This is all well and good, but this all fails to answer my previous question, what position do you imagine yourself being in here?"

You prayed that your knowledge of Crusader Kings 2 would prove helpful here. "A courtier, m'lady."

"A courtier? That's hardly a job at all, you know."

"Is it not? Is it not proper for any court to host a plethora of welcome guests to entertain? A lady deserves to have proper entertainment, ears that will listen, mouths that will talk. It's a classic tradition, a staple of any court." You bowed to the ground, hoping that your bluster was working. Your impressive breasts hung down, unsupported by anything but your ill-fitting outsider world shirt, but not for long. "Rest assured, if you accept me into your court, I shall provide the finest of commentary, the most stimulating of feedback, and the most riveting of stories for you. Far better than any other plebian in this countryside could hope to provide you." With that, your clothes were transformed. No longer did you have slightly dirty clothes belonging to that of a man, but an elegant dress, pink and frilly. Your new heels helped to replace the few inches of height you had lost earlier, with stocking reaching up your smooth legs, reaching up desperate to grasp at the panties hiding your new womanhood. If you were in a more lucid state, perhaps you might've freaked out. But the rush of pitching yourself to this vampire, it was wonderful. A lady as amazing as her got to hear just how amazing you were as well! Worthy of being in her good graces!

"Very well, I've heard enough. From this moment forward, you shall be a courtier of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. This is your fate, sealed in red. Embrace it!"

You rose, smiling bright, and your hand couldn't help but raise itself to your mouth. "Oh ho ho ho ho! I know you'll enjoy your time with me, Lady Remilia!"

~ ~

You sat out in the garden, sipping tea. The flowers looked beautiful, or you assumed so. It was night, so their colors were a bit muted.

"I just don't understand this though. Why would people keep venturing into those anomalous regions if people keep being spirited away in them?" Remilia was fascinated by your story today. Every day she asked to be entertained by you, you always were able to think back of something of note. It was actually more fun than you thought it would be. Your job was literally just telling Remilia about things you thought were interesting, and she was captivated. And why wouldn't she be? You were an interesting and captivating person.

"That's the hubris of humans, isn't it? They think they rule over nature. They think nothing of a spiritual nature can happen to them. They think nature exists for their desires, to play and have picnics in it." You took a sip of your tea, kicking your legs out some to stretch them. Not too much though, it would be quite unladylike, and you had to keep yourself proper. It would be disrespectful to yourself to act in any other manner. "When they hear of boys who disappear after folding their clothes neatly on a rock, they think nothing of it."

Remilia brought her hand to her head, thinking carefully. "How strange. I can't imagine how these stories don't disturb humans. Have they grown so fearless these days?"

"You say fearless, but I think desensitized is a more proper term." You crossed your legs, thick thighs close together as any lady would have them. Funny, you knew at one point you weren't a lady... but it was rather ghoulish to think about. Some mannish thing between your perfect legs? It was gross to think about. A perfect lady like yourself couldn't have something like that. "Humans these days are arrogant yet mechanical. And most thoroughly uninteresting."

"Not like yourself though. An exception to the rule." With your mistress' smile, you returned it in kind.

"Indeed, and let us be thankful for those exceptions, m'lady!" This was indeed the life. By day you sleep, then begin your time dressing and applying makeup so that you can look as a lady should. After which, you'd brush up on any subjects of note at either Patchy's library or whatever books you could find in the human village. By night, you'd entertain Remilia's fancies until she had other business to attend to. It was a fantastic life. If you played your cards right, you could even imagine Remilia offering you a way to make this position permanent, a kind of permanent only a vampire could offer.

It was tempting, but that was for the future. You were to focus on the now, and now you were already a damn perfect lady.

Ending #2 - Spymaster

Overworked Horny Fox

[X] The Scarlet Devil Mansion will want to expand its influence, won't it? I can be quite the spymaster for you!

"If you'll indulge me, Lady Remilia, what does any great noble need in their court?"

"A throne."

"Hmm... Well yes, that is necessary, but I was thinking something else."

"A portrait?"

"Something more alive."

"Servants?"

"Closer, a type of servant."

"A maid?"

You could tell this wasn't really going well. "Yes, maids are important, but what I was thinking was something like a spymaster."

Remilia twisted her face. "A spymaster?"

"Yes! After all, don't all royals have their own schemes they want to set in motion?" Thank God for your experience in Crusader Kings 2. "A spymaster allows you to have someone who'll help you make plans and achieve them! There's no spymaster currently in the Scarlet Devil Mansion, correct."

Remilia pondered. "For most espionage, I usually entrust Sakuya to deal with it. She's very effective, but perhaps it would be more reasonable to relieve her of some of the burden."

"Rest assured, my lady, that I'm always willing to do as commanded." Sakuya felt the need to interject.

"If I could operate as your spymaster," You paid little heed to Sakuya's comment since it seemed to be one less of insult and more of reassurance to her master. "I've spent many years learning of how kingdoms are toppled, and I myself have orchestrated some of those. I could help monitor plans, learn what the others in Gensokyo are doing, and make sure all the pieces of whatever you dream of fall into place! Why not look at some of the other players in Gensokyo? The Moriya Shrine, the tengu, they have schemers dedicated to this type of thing! That one fox alone has caused so much grief thanks to her trickery, and that's grief I can protect this mansion from by discovering those plans before they come to fruition! I can also cause grief to your enemies! Trust me, Lady Remilia, if you see it fit I'll be an excellent spymaster for the Scarlet Devil Mansion."

Remilia twirled her wine glass, watching the liquid inside shake. "This is all quite interesting, are you sure this is what you'll be best at?"

Truthfully, you'd say no. But you needed to be confident in front of the vampire. "Undoubtably, m'lady."

"Very well. However, I must ask one thing..." She leaned forward, looking you dead in the eyes. "How does a boy who fails to know a drop of Japanese expect to engage in intrigue in a land of Japanese fantasy?"

Oh yeah, that would be an issue. Maybe you should've thought about a more 'stay-at-home' position. "Well, I mean, I can always practice, and-"

Remilia laughed. "Don't worry, pay it no mind! I know how to handle this, you'll get to be as tricky as you please!" With a snap of her fingers, red sparks flew out. Strange, what was that? You scratched your head, puzzled, rubbing the fluffy hair and-wait, what was that? You felt something fluffy, something soft on the top of your head. It almost felt like...

Before you could even request or comment, Sakuya materialized in front of you. A large mirror was held out, revealing a reflection of yourself. It looked fairly normal, outside of your now-blonde hair adorned with two fox-like ears on top. "何ですか-" Before you could realize you just spoke Japanese, a strange sensation made you shiver, sprouting a tail from your backside. A big, fluffy, fox tail.

"That Yakumo has a fox, as well as the daitengu. It's only fitting I should have one too, right Sakuya?"

"Indeed, m'lady." Sakuya nodded.

"これはーThis is crazy! Please, you know this isn't right!"

"Unfortunately, I must concur with the fox, Lady Remilia."

Both you and Remilia looked with widened eyes at her. "You do?"

"A male fox is going to be territorial and difficult to control. The ideal fox as a pet should be a female one."

"ええええええ?何?"

"Excellent idea Sakuya! There's a reason you're my right hand!"

You tried to scream, but two breasts surged forth, interrupting any complaints and turning them into a "yeep!" Long fingernails grew forth your now feminine hands, and they grabbed your new breasts. The shirt in your hands was gradually becoming more and more loose, as your frame and height shrunk down some. You gasped and darted your hand downwards to your crotch, just in time to feel your last shred of masculinity recede forever.

"Now this should be a welcome addition to the mansion's menagerie, Lady Remilia."

"Excellent, welcome my new fox! From this moment forward, you shall be a courtier of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. This is your fate, sealed in red. Embrace it!"

~ ~

You clung tight to the cloak wrapped around your neck, a helpful tool to both hide your identity and protect you from the rain, as you scurried down the village alley. Some bribes here, some sweet words there, but you had finally managed to grab what your master had been wanting. The scroll was tucked away by your side. Your master had asked you not to take a look at it, but you would need to verify it was the real deal before you presented it to her. That, and you had your own curiosity to sate as well.

Entering an abandoned house, you locked the door and shook your head and tail roughly, trying to get some of the water out of it. Satisfied, you removed your cloak and sat on the old bed. You knew some youkai used this house as a safe place during festivals, but you couldn't sense any around now. Plus, with the rain and dark clouds, you figured most youkai would take the opportunity to be out and about. You wouldn't be interrupted.

Carefully, you placed the scroll on the bed and unrolled it. Before you, in all of its glory, was the secret to...

...

This was just an artwork piece of Dio Brando from Jojo. That was it? That was the big thing Remilia had wanted to grab? You sighed. It was about par of the course, to be truthful. Remilia would often desire the odd and unique, or anything she just thought was cool. And Dio would probably fall under that category, on account of being a vampire.

...

You know, looking at this more... You hadn't noticed before, but Dio's muscles were pretty nice looking. It was probably your vixen desires talking, but you couldn't help but admire them. You hung the scroll on the wall and leaned back on the bed, slipping your hand down to your nether region. You still had plenty of time before you had to be back, might as well relieve yourself of some of the stress of this week's mission before you returned to the mansion.
