The Ryokugyoku-wan (緑玉湾) is one of the most important shipping hubs in the entirety of the Kaguya Sea and the world itself. It's famed sister ports of Suzuhara (鈴原) and Helesta (ヘルエスタ) have the mutual distinction of being the heart of the Imperial Navy's Western Fleet and the two of the largest emporiums of trade within the Empire itself. Both have a shared and storied history, spanning two millennium with many ups and downs along the way.

The Ryokugyoku-wan's importance can be attributed in many ways to its ideal geography. Located in Sanbaka Prefecture, it is tucked into an easily defensible inlet that is easily guarded by the jutting Suzuhara-hantō and the bay's namesake, the Ryokugyoku islands. The Helesta-kawa's mouth empties into the bay, ensuring easy access into it's fertile valley that runs to the north.
