How to revert SX Core / SX Lite to its original firmware
This guide only works for SX Core and SX Lite chips. It does not work for HWFLY mod chips.
What you'll need:
- SX Updater
- SX Core/Lite firmware
- Your modchip bootloader backup
- A micro-USB cable
- The modchip USB port
- A PC running Windows
Setup:
- Plug your micro USB cable into your modchip and then connect it to your pc.
- Delete the files
bootloader.bin
andfirmware.bin
in your spacecraft folder. - Rename the file
backup_xxxx_xx_xx_xx_xx.bin
tobootloader.bin
. - Place
sxcore_fw_xx.bin
in your spacecraft folder and rename it tofirmware.bin
. - Open the terminal inside the folder by holding Shift, right click inside inside the folder, and selecting either:
Open CMD window here
orOpen PowerShell window here
- Once the terminal launches, paste the following command inside, press Enter, and wait for it to complete:
.\BootloaderUpdater.exe .\bootloader.bin
DO NOT UNPLUG THE USB CABLE WHILE IT IS FLASHING OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR MODCHIP!
- Once its done, unplug the modchip and plug it back in and close the terminal window.
- Start up SX Updater and make sure to pick the correct port.
- Select the
firmware.bin
file you had renamed and click on "Update". - Wait for it to be done and then unplug the modchip.
- Now you should be back to the modchips original firmware!
