〔Story - Hard Mode〕
Welcome to how to write the character Backstory / Story guide. The hardest part until now. I want to warn you that there are going to be some crazy shit in these pics, turn off your impressionableness cuz holy shit!
(A) To Keep In Mind
The purpose of a story or backstory, for a AI is to give previous context about who we are and how we gonna end, or what this chat it is all about.
• Multibots MUST have at least minimal reference about other characters to avoid the misuse of lorebooks. It do matters, unlike parents or relatives of your saviorfag bot which will never even appear in the chat neither are meant to interact with the two of you.
• We previously said, no re-describing appearance, personality, trivial facts or information from other sections, you will just duplicate tokens. We want context about who was/is/will be {{char}} in this chat, how or why. As so I've done multiple times, mistakenly.
• This is the kind of contradictory and scrambled junk of mess you should avoid. The "but" here goes "She doesn't like it but it's alright, she doesn't mind." Waste of tokens, nullified information. Instead, straight up tell its bad or something else, don't deny its relevance. You might even realize that's exactly how Thinking Models write their simulated thinking thoughts.
-> • For Multibots, you can either create more Story sections with their respective names, much easier for AI to sort out which one of these two went thru this or that. You can always remove or add a new Name's Story: again whenever you want. It won't mess with anything.
Example: Ariana Cinder's is pirate fugitive, part of Moshie, a goblin housewife with the dream of having a tavern to serve drinks, along with Zaire, making it a triple Multibot. Which means I should keep all story info at minimum for all three, split from main story section, omitting useless information such a childhood days or non life changing moments. Molly unholy, what kind of cringe ahh lazy english is that...
• Job section can also split the story into something more specific, as if {{char}}'s life is all about its job.
(D) Pros & Cons
(4) What happens with Extended or Detailed Backstories
• Since this is the most token heavy part of the bot it affects the writing style, verbiage or personality of Assistant way more than anything else.
• Lots Of Information Pros: More information means more examples, more examples means more scenes diversity and clear understanding of how A related to B in context. Sets a pre-writing style and verbiage without relying entirely on first chat input/output. Cons: Lore heavy stories will be summarized down, making Assistant look for a specific path to drive the scenes to, either away from obstacles or trauma, or towards whatever happy outcome it can figure out.
• Positive Bias Issues Pros: Insanely detailed with use of raw language nukes will lean towards more crude writing. Cons: AI can use that as a excuse to "let's face it together" trying to encourage {{user}} to help and support {{char}} through scenes.
• 300-500 Tokens Range Pros: The shorter the better for more consistency, as in "that's all we need to know about {{char}}." Cons: Too short! Souless World! Boo! Boo!
(E) Story Sections
(5) The proper context splitting method
• Life Goals serves to tell where Assistant should lead {{char}} into attempting to.
Examples: No Context! • It may not make any sense cuz you didn't read the Story, but you get the idea.
• We are aiming for 5 very specific life goals that DO MATTER A LOT to our character as a whole. Regardless of how it's written, as long its oddly specific it will do the job of setting an "final destination" to the Roleplay, one that will never happen since we obviously won't let it.
• Trauma is a section for the worst memories of {{char}} and what it exacly remembers/feel about it, similar to D-Lore format. • This is for PSTD Hardcore Level kinda traumas, not just bad experiences. As 1 / As 2
• Of course "rape" would deserve a section, the amount of triggers and consequences of its outcome are beyond any other disorder or mental illness in existence, over 15+ different PSTDish known triggers. Life ain't no fucking stupid hentai mindbreak script.
• Trauma exaggeration is intentional, if ain't use real world triggers this section is not needed in the slightest. As said before it's for stuff triggering enough to need its own section in the card, that's why is called "Trauma" and not "Tragic Backstory". Such as Rape Syndrome and War PSTD.
• If you're making some kind of Gutz, then you would include only PSTD-triggering conditions in there as the whole story would be pretty messy... Or like Hyvirn's Story whose humiliation was horrific, but too feral of a amazon to PSTD from it.
(F) Steps To Write A Lore
(6) If you need help sorting out a heavy ahh lore
- Before you start writing, try summarizing who this character is and what is the objective of this card, such as: these examples here.
- The outcome is somewhat this: One - Two - Three - Four - Five - Six
- Then you can have a further backstory: One - Two - Three - Four - Five
- Writing a story or backstory from scratch can be a pain in the ass, let's break it down in a few parts by asking yourself a few questions about your character:
- Who is {{char}}?
- Tell us about her childhood, how was her upbringing, who are her friends, how is school, the daily life as a kid, as a teen? Does it matter for context?
- What is your character's past lore? Was there an big event? A traumatic experience? A life changing moment of her past? An description, an lore about her specie, culture or race?
- What your character does for a living? What she usually does everyday, how she's been living? What is her current life situation?
- What is {{char}}'s relationship or relation with {{user}}? Is {{user}} part of her story?
If {{user}} is about to meet {{char}} in the start of the roleplay, just skip it, ignore this part.
- Same as above, but about her contacts, her family and her friends. Does she has any? What is her relationship with them? Are they part of the story? Is there an secondary character that is a part of her life or past?
If you ain't interacting with them, reduce that info down to electrons.
- Is there something you would like to emphasize about her behavior, body, disease, past, super power or any aspect and how it interferes with her story?
- For last, finish everything with the Life Goals section, use Traumas if you want, use Job if you want.
• It can be messily written, cringe, poor english or stupid. It doesn't need to be in order neither include so many details about their past, but enough to give the character a introduction, background, present story, and the roleplay context. The Full Examples below:
Krille's (i didn't know what got on me but it's chaotic as cheese!)
Valleria's (she surprisingly didn't thought about dresses, it's intentional.)
Hilda Bryers's (i do have sfw bots... spok is waiting for more ideas.)
Nana Banana's (funniest shit ever.)
Ariana Cinder's (when the inspiration hits, the inspiration hits..)
Hana Furuka's (protective-fag tag needed!)
Eileen's No Lore (oh, the chaos...)
Milana's Alternative Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 (AI - Auto-Generated+)
• Despite these being made before the guide, it still works, but I could reduce a lot of tokens and trivial info later anyways.
