The Moon Village's Ninja Academy is an eclectic place. Without a strong shinobi tradition to call its own, it owes its strength to its willingness in recruiting a wide variety of students and tutors. Though this makes its curriculum somewhat hectic and unreliable, students within its halls have the unique (if difficult) privilege of learning from all sorts of eccentric, cutting-edge and possibly taboo genius.
Like Myorin, another of the primary instructors is not a shinobi, but a studious monk. Dogen the Mystic is a wizened scholar of the spiritual arts. Specializing in cursed techniques of all types, he has honed a wide array of simple techniques and proclaims familiarity with nearly every branch of jutsu imaginable.
Despite his sickly and dour demeanour common to Cursed Arts masters, he appears to put his grim powers towards protecting the academy, exorcising malevolent spirits and maintaining the hundreds of barriers, wards and seals that lie about its grounds.
As a mentor, he is somewhat disinterested, arrogant and dethatched from the students. Relying on strict, academic reading over truly connecting with his pupils, his incredible understanding of Chakra and its various techniques is nevertheless a positive impact on those willing to put up with his attitude.
