“Say cheese!”

The camera clicks, flashing the weakly smiling duo as they struggle to look on, a glare hanging in their vision.

“Wonderful! Now, let me see if…hm.” Fuzzy white palms turn the device from side to side, “Well…perhaps we could take another? It appears you may have…blinked, my child. And I didn’t quite realize just how shiny your scales could be, young lady!” She chuckles, “It reminds me of when you and Kris went swimming in the lake last summer! Do you remember? How he nearly walked into one of the trees near the shore? The light from your scales must have caught in his eyes when you were leaving the water and-“

“M-Mom…” A pitiful grumble escapes the human’s lips. He awkwardly pulls at his collar, desperate to escape the heat building around the vest’s hold on him. It was hard enough breathing in the fancy clothing, much less doing so while enduring his mother’s trip down memory lane.

“Hm? Oh!” The beaming smile on the goat’s face softens, “Sorry, sorry! I was just reminded of those days. They seem so long ago, don’t they?”

Rumbling laughter builds from the human’s side as an arm sweeps over his shoulders, subtly pulling him closer, “Nah, it’s cool Ms. Dree-“ The dragon clears her throat, “Uh…T-Toriel.”

Kris glances at the wrinkled white sleeve hanging down across his chest, the material bunching up towards the girl’s bicep, glimmering scales on full display. He absentmindedly traces the folds, reaching up to pick at a faded chocolate stain. Was that from the last Sadie Hawkman’s dance? Did she even wash it? He told her it wouldn’t come out.

Kris sighs. Chocolate never comes out.

“Don’t think I caught this dude staring back then. He almost ran into a tree, huh?”

Piercing crimson irises shoot up towards the dragoness, the withering look ignored by the softly snorting girl.

Toriel chortles once more, another streak of red burning on Kris’ cheeks.

“He managed to avoid hurting himself, thankfully.” She wistfully sighs, stowing the camera deep within the pockets of her dress, “I suppose you could say…”

His eye twitches.

“…he couldn’t see the forest from the trees that day!”

“Mom, I think the dance is starting…” Kris weakly mutters, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“Aw come on. It ain’t going nowhere.” Susie’s arm circles round tightly, the folds of her dress shirt pressing into the human’s cheek, “Besides, I kinda want to hear about how you were staring at me back then. Must’ve caught a nasty glare or something, huh?”

“Susie…!” The boy hisses.

“Well…” Toriel peers over her shoulder, watching as another group of excited teens shuffle through the gym’s entryway, wild lights and booming music spilling forth, “As much as I would love to chat, perhaps Kris is right. I’m sure Ms. Alphys and the other staff have need of me.”

Kris follows her gaze, only to wince as an ear-piercing screech surges through the door and into the empty hallway, a worried look creasing on Toriel’s lips.

“…I do hope they have enough hawk masks this year. It just isn’t the same otherwise.”

“Eh, I’m sure it’s fine.” Scales press into the boy’s cheek, the monster pulling him in closer, “We’ve got time, right Kris?”

He rolls his eyes, gently picking the arm from his shoulder, gracefully spinning away. His shining black loafers squeak along the school’s worn tiles, the hallway barely illuminated apart from the dance floor’s neon lights, fading as the gym’s door clicks shut. Brushing a hand down across his dark green vest, he quietly picks at a bit of fuzz from his slacks, turning to face the dragoness with a restored smile.

“Sure. Plenty of time.” He cocks his head to the side, “…but maybe we should hurry. They might play that song you like. You know, the one they played last year when you tried to-“

“N-Never mind!” The scaled girl’s eyes widen, drilling into the smirking human, “They might…uh, need you Ms. Dr- I-I mean Toriel!” She bites her lip, muttering under her breath, “…damn it.”

Toriel hums in thought, oblivious to the dragon’s panic, “I suppose I should be heading in sooner than later. These dances have been quite the handful in recent years.” Toriel shakes her head disapprovingly, “I’m still not sure which of the students took the punchbowl last year, or how they managed to get it stuck in the rafters. Not to mention how…close, many of the students have been with one another.”

Kris shrugs, wandering back to the dragoness, attempting to ignore the subtle growl building at his side.

Toriel huffs, “Honestly, what happened to the days of simply dancing with your friends, showing off all your funky moves!”

Kris stifles a groan, slowly beginning to notice fangs lurking at the edges of his vision, “…no idea. But we’ll be in there soon.”

“Yep. Any minute now.” Susie snarls.

Toriel sighs, lost in thought as she begins to meander down the hall, “Well, I suppose I will be heading inside. Make sure to get some snacks while you’re in there, and plenty of water! I don’t want you two overexerting yourself while boogieing the night away!”

Left in the surrounding darkness, Kris and Susie staring at each other, barely aware of Toriel vanishing from sight, passing into the thrumming music and hum of voices, the hall closing back to a muffled silence. The gym’s double doors click shut, a streak of moonlight now painting the chipped walls and dull green lockers, streaming in from down the way. Besides the echo of the speakers, there was a snort, a growl, the two continuing to inch closer and closer, nearly butting heads and chests. The tension burns between them, fearsome eyes watching for any sign of weakness, of a chance to strike.

“…freak.”

“Bully.”

Razor-sharp fangs glint in the dim light, matched only by the human’s own canines shining forth, the dragon leaning down to his level as he stretches to match hers. The standoff continues, closer, neither showing signs of backing down. Not with everything at stake; not with their pride on the line.

At least until her maw dips, planting a kiss upon his forehead.

“Agh, come on!” Kris sputters, reeling back.

Susie crosses her arms, flicking her messily woven tie off and away, the tip of her thin purple tongue playfully lashing out from between her lips, “Cute when you’re all tough n’ shit.”

The scowl on Kris’ face melts away as he flops against the nearby locker with a huff.

“Seriously though? You were gonna blab about last year? Would’ve messed both of us up with that!” Susie chuckles, shoulder pressing into the locker at his side, “Like, damn dude. Think your mom would flip if she found out what we were doing.”

“Wasn’t gonna tell her that.”

“Huh?” Amber irises burn through the darkness, one of the few colors still visible, “So…the plan wasn’t to tell her about us making out behind the school?”

“Nah.”

The girl grunts, throwing her arms into the air, “Then what the hell were you going for?”

“Was gonna bring up how you wanted to slow dance afterwards.”

“…ooh, right.” She drags a claw back through her tangled hair, the mane falling in a heap against the dull green metal, “Wait, how’s that embarrassing? Friends dance together. Seen Catti and Noelle do it.”

Kris raises an eyebrow, opening his mouth to speak, only for the words to fade back into the silence of the school’s hall.

Susie clicks her tongue, absentmindedly scratching the scales along her neck, “Besides, I only stepped on your feet, like, twice.”

“…five times.”

“What?”

“Nothing.” Kris bites his lip, stifling the smile, “But it’s not that. It was how you kinda…leaned into me? And…”

“…and what?” Susie mutters quizzically.

“Tried to kiss me?”

Her eyes bulge, “Sh-Shit! That happened?!”

“You don’t remember?”

A scaled palm shoots up, squeezing her snout, the pink hue flaring on her cheeks visible in the flickering moonlight, “No, no, I remember now. Goddamn it. Look, it was just…it was nice, okay?! Song was nice, and you were…you. I don’t know! It just happened!”

Kris nods quietly, “Yep, I was there.”

A claw pokes into his vest, a chuckle bubbling up from the human.

“Sh-Shut-up! You didn’t complain before that! Besides, I didn’t actually go for it.” The girl turns, slamming back into the locker, defeated, “Think I saw Ms. Alphys eyeing us and stopped myself.”

Kris brushes a hand down his vest, gently pulling at the sleeves of his black undershirt. He unconsciously inches closer to the sullen dragon, warmth radiating off her body, a comforting heat considering the cold sweeping through the school. Turning his vision down the thoroughfare, he peers through the glass doors, spotting a gentle snowfall in the distance. Her flared scales brush against his sleeves, snagging ever so slightly in their closeness.

“So…if Ms. Alphys didn’t see us?” He playfully mutters.

Susie glances down with a smirk, “Really wanna know?”

The human’s mischievous energy drains away, blooming heat rising along his neck.

The two stand in silence, eyes darting around to anything but each other. In the distance, the dull hum of voices and even louder speakers pulse through the walls, accentuated by the occasional squawk of teachers conducting their yearly duties.

Kris bites his lip. This was the…second? Third? He had lost count at this point. The same end of year festivities, the same rush to find clothes his mother would consider appropriate for such an occasion, the same music and snacks he came to expect from the school’s limited budget.

He glances at Susie, smiling beneath the shadows of his hair, thankful for the chance to watch her without being spotted.

Not that the two of them really attended the dance. Sometimes they’d hop into the Dark World, or head over to the lake, simply enjoying the time alone, a moment where no one expected them to be present. After all, few people wondered where the school bully and quiet human dashed off to during such an event. Them showing up was a surprise on its own.

His gaze turns back down the hall, watching as each snowflake falls along the school’s steps, coating the town in an icy powder.

Maybe it was important to remember with how fast everything was going. The fact that this could be their last dance was difficult to-

“Wanna go mess around in the storage room?”

Kris blinks.

“Uh…” He shakes his head, drifting back into reality, “I guess? Could go to the Dark World instead. I think Ralsei’s still up at this hour. We could see if he wants to go explore outside the kingdom, maybe train a bit.”

“Nah, wanna do other stuff.” Susie sharply sniffs, her eyes blankly locked onto the snowfall ahead.

Kris leans out, trying to find her gaze, “…like?”

She shrugs, shambling away from the locker’s surface, bumping into his shoulder as she goes.

“Susie?” He mutters quietly.

“Come on, we’ll figure something out.”

Kris watches her step further into the darkness, passing him by and reaching for the door’s handle, the frosted glass window glinting amidst the dwindling light. He opens his mouth to call out to her, struggling to catch up, the monster wordlessly passing through into the pitch-black room. Frantically reaching out, he snatches the door’s handle before it closes fully, finding himself blinded by the sudden flash of light, the bulb flaring to life from above.

“…could’ve warned me.” Kris mumbles, squinting into the brilliantly lit storage space.

“Eh, you’ll live.” Susie digs a claw underneath her simple black tie, jerking it from side to side before tossing the accessory limply into the corner, “Ugh, hate wearing all this. Feels so stuffy.”

The human blinks. Once, twice. Enough to clear the dancing bubbles of multi-colored light burning in his vision.

“Pants’re fine, I guess. Still get to wear my boots with them, but the shirt? Makes me look like one of those butlers Ralsei’s always trying to mimic.”

She tears at the button clasped around her neck, unhooking one, then the other, until a thin black tee is revealed, the folds of her mostly stain-free white dress shirt flowing around her hips. Grabbing at the sleeves, she drags her arms out, mashing the top into a wrinkled ball. Grumbling, she stretches into the air, the muscles in her arms bulging and flexing, scales warping along her biceps. She dully scratches her neck for a moment before reeling back, whipping the shirt across the room, the top falling in a heap of dusty cardboard boxes.

Kris watches through bleary eyes, a familiar twisting sensation building in his throat. His gaze traces along her hips, the edges of her thin black shirt clinging tightly, outlining her physique in careful detail. Rising up to the split on her neckline, he eyes the slight tear in her shirt pulling the collar further down than usual, exposing much more than perhaps even she realized. The scales of her neckline lightened in tone, appearing paler, more sensitive, softer as they went further down, rounding in areas Kris felt would be dangerous to linger on.

The dragoness absentmindedly turns her neck from side to side, cracks echoing out. She continues to stretch her jaw, fearsome rows of fangs scaling back far into her snout. With a satisfied yawn, she smacks her lips, her thinly-tipped tongue hanging out the edge of her mouth. Kris swallows sharply, watching the indigo muscle flick in the air before retreating back into the depths of her maw.

He clears his throat, remembering just how far her tongue could go. The experience wasn’t…unpleasant. But in the heat of the moment, when their lips met and she would explore further and further, her tongue reaching deeper than he thought possible, almost suffocatingly so…
The boy coughs, a fierce burning sensation flaring on his cheeks.

“Seriously, I don’t know how people like Ralsei feel comfortable in that get up. Feels like I can’t move or do anything without tearing something.” Her claws wrap around her sweeping mane, bundling the threads up into a ponytail before digging a free hand into her pocket, “What about you? You prefer the butler look?”

He gulps, “U-Uh, not…not really.”

“Right? Like, I’d take my jacket in the Dark World any day. Hell, I’d trade my normal jacket for that. Having no sleeves is awesome.” She chuckles, plucking a green hair tie from below, “…wonder if I could cut my jacket’s sleeves off.” The darkened mane flops down along her back, brought into a messy ponytail, “Maybe after it stops snowing all the time.”

“Y-Yeah.”

Kris shakes his head, beginning to wander around the room, desperate for a distraction.

“Guess they…uh, put all the gym stuff in here.” Kris mutters, poking at a pile of soft blue mats stacked along the wall, a number of beanbag chairs keeping them propped up, “Same with the reading chairs my mom had in her class.”

“Think I saw them stuffing all this junk in here a few weeks ago. Bunch of old school supplies, books, even emergency stuff.” Susie chuckles, poking at one of the pellet-filled chairs, the grey camouflage pattern bending inwards, “Huh. Squishy.”

“Emergency stuff?” Kris asks, curiously watching as the girl slinks over to the corner of the room.

The dragoness scrambles about, pushing through a number of folders bulging with documents, retrieving a heavy black tube, flicking the switch. A plume of light dances through the air, bits of dust glimmering amidst the beam, before disappearing with one more click.

“Flashlights?”

Susie grins, “Flashlights.”

The excited dragon whips past, nearly colliding with Kris, slamming a palm down along the light switch and blanketing the room in darkness once more. With a soft snap, a cone of piercing white blooms across the ceiling, painting the nearby storage locker and numerous stacks of science textbooks in a blinding glow. The human blinks once more, his head beginning to spin.

“There, now no one can find us.”

Kris stares at the ceiling, looking back to the door’s window, back to the ceiling, “…they can still see the light.”

Another click echoes out from the entrance.

“Sure, but they can’t get in if the door’s locked!”

Susie dashes past once more, happily snorting along. He watches the girl, a wistful smile on his lips, as she begins to dart about, throwing stacks of tattered workbooks and cardboard boxes off to the darkest corners.

Unsure of what to do with himself, he meanders past a stray beanbag chair, finding refuge against the metal cabinet, the cold surface pressing into the back of his vest, “You seem excited.”

Frenzied eyes peer through the darkness, narrowing.

“…uh, never mind.”

Susie points a claw above him, “Hand me that.”

Kris blinks, glancing up towards the top of the cabinet, finding a loose strand dangling inches from the top of his head. Gently pulling at the bit of cloth, a dense quilt flops down to the floor, the back half slamming into his face during the descent, sending him sputtering away.

“Smooth.”

“Plech…” Kris grimaces, beginning to free himself from the blanket’s assault, only for the dull blue bundle to be snatched away and dragged into the darkness by the scaled girl.

“Alright, think that’s everything.” Susie brushes an arm against her snout, “Thought they’d maybe get rid of this junk with winter break coming up. Guess they were too lazy.” She snickers, bending down towards her piled hoard, “Don’t know why they even have all this stuff in here.”

Kris sinks back against the locker, grumpily eyeing bits of blue fuzz lurking in his hair, “Think most of it’s from my mom. She donates a lot of things my brother and I grow out of. Toys, books…” He stares out towards the splayed remains of the quilt, gently brushing a hand through his hair, “Blankets.”
Susie grunts, tossing a beanbag chair casually upon her shoulder.

“So…” Kris mutters.

“So, how’s the college junk going?”

He stops, “…fine?”

The dragoness slips a hand behind a number of stacked gym mats, allowing them to drop to the tile below with a dull thump. She quickly pushes them against the wall, the pile soon growing waist-high.

“You get in?”

Kris silently watches, beanbag chairs now being tossed atop the collection, creating a makeshift couch of sorts.

“Like, you had to take those tests online or whatever, yeah?”

The human shakes from the sight, reaching for a nearby beanbag chair, carefully placing the squishy material alongside the others, “I guess.”

Susie’s eyes narrow, “You guess?”

“I mean…I got in. Classes start next year after we graduate.”

“Hm.” She grunts, roughly slamming another bag onto the tacky throne, “Cool.”

The human stops, listening as the girl grumbles under her breath, a single fang chewing at her lip.

He watches her carefully, eyes darting away, “…you know I’m not leaving, right? I’m only going because my mom wants me to try. Most of the classes are online anyway, so I’ll only have to be there-“

“I know.”

The words are stolen, the only sounds in the room being that of the dragoness’ tireless work, the pile now growing into a proper seating arrangement, nearly every inch of the mats covered in soft, almost downy, beanbag chairs. Susie darts to the side, grabbing up the nearby quilt and throwing it over, the fuzzy blue cover fluttering down across the cushions. She brushes the wrinkled edges, letting out a satisfied grunt at a job well done. Kris steps back, eyeing the strange, but surprisingly comfortable, looking couch.

He closes his eyes for a moment, exhaling sharply.

“I promise, I’m not going anywhere.” He painfully chuckles, “I can’t even leave that much since my mom needs the car most days.”

“Mm-hm.”

Kris groans, squinting in the dim light, “Susie.”

“Yeah?”

“It’ll be fine. You know I love y-“

He stops, amber irises lurking in the nearby darkness, a predatory look trained on him.

“…Susie?” Kris swallows sharply, “C-Come on, you know I mean it when-“

The dragoness approaches, stalking, scales gleaming in the flashlight’s glow as she draws closer and closer.

He takes a step backwards, “…don’t you dare.”

She lunges.

“AGH!”

Muscular arms wrap around the human, dragging him close to her chest, heartbeat thrumming in his ears. With his face buried in her bosom, he struggles to breath, to attempt any sane thought, her grasp on him tightening by the moment. The girl cackles menacingly, sweeping him off the floor and throttling herself backwards into the air, the human in tow. The rubbery mats squeak together, punctuated by the beanbag chairs settling under the impact of the couple crashing down into the pile. Air slowly escapes the throne as the two sink deeper and deeper, the human desperate for oxygen amidst the scales and quilted fuzz burning in his vision.

“There, now we can relax.”

The dragoness’ arms fall away, still lingering at his sides, but no longer holding him close enough to question consciousness. Kris struggles for air, rising up from the surprisingly softer scales of her chest. His hands slowly sink deeper into the cushions, unintentionally bringing him closer to the girl’s embrace once more, his face burning wildly.

“N-Not…not angry?” Kris gasps.

“Nah, just wanted to be comfy while we talk.”

The boy sighs, breath returning to normal, “…cool.”

Before the girl can react, Kris darts forward, pecking her on the lips before flipping off and away, sinking back into the cushions, curling under her arm.

Susie sputters, “The hell?!”

“What? You started it.” He chuckles, reclining against the fearsome monster.

Susie growls, her claws threateningly drifting along the human’s form. Kris tilts his head back towards the girl, flashing a warm smile her way before settling back down, snuggling into her shoulder. The dragoness’ growls soon melt into a gravelly purr, the sound reverberating through the room and into the human himself.

“F-Freak.”

Kris smiles in silence, peering up at the makeshift spotlight blooming across the ceiling. Quiet snorts echo out from his side, a scaly arm pulling him closer, tighter, reveling in his warmth, her snout nuzzling into his hair.

“…ve you.”

“Huh?”

The girl’s claws dig into him ever so slightly, releasing just as quickly, “Y-You know what I said.”

“Nah, sorry, didn’t catch it.”

“Ugh…” Susie groans, “Look, you know I…”

“Know what?”

The dragoness snarls, sweeping her other arm up and over, wrapping around him. Kris’ vision fades to black, face buried into the girl, closed off from the world.

“…love you too.” She whispers.

The human swallows sharply.

“But, like, it sucks!” Susie bellows, releasing her hold, “You not being around, not being here? I know your mom wants you to go and everything, but it just…sucks.”

Kris blinks, dim light streaming back in, “I’m not-“ He coughs, shaking away from the girl’s sweeping mane, “I’m not going anywhere. I told you that; I only have to drive out there every-“

“It’s not that! It’s…” Susie mutters.

Her breath billows along his neck, an earthy smell filling his senses. A bemused smile creases along his lips as he enjoys the warmth, taking no small pleasure in the heat radiating off the girl’s scales. Being this close to the dragoness was like nearing a still flickering campfire; one that was prone to flaring wildly when stoked. He wasn’t sure if all dragon monsters were like this, but it was an experience that he took comfort in. The way her scales left patterns along his cheeks when pressed tightly to her, how her fangs threatened to dash across his lips even when they were careful, the sound her tail made when she was excited, and-

A claw taps against his forehead.

“H-Hey! Pay attention! Didn’t come here to sleep, idiot!”

Kris’ eyes flutter open, “Hm? You sure?”

A particularly guttural growl echoes into the room, dispelling the smugness in his voice. Within seconds, he feels himself drop, her arm leaving his side as Susie slinks away, effortlessly stalking across the cushions to face him head on. Eyes shine predatorily in the darkness, looming closer, peering down at the prone human.

“You’re going to college.”

Kris pauses, waiting for more, “…yes?”

“S-So…that means you’ll be around other people.”

He tries to sit up, only to feel a palm gently rest on his chest, the girl’s maw hovering close.

“That’s…I-I mean, I guess?” Kris stutters, “Why?”

Golden irises disappear for a moment, returning with a gentle look as she nears, “Well, like, you’re gonna meet other people. Monsters. Whatever!”

“Susie…?”

Fangs glint inches away, heady breaths painting his neck. Her claws curl into his vest, threads bending underneath the knife-like talons, pushing him further down. Flat on his back, air barely escapes from his lips, the warmth slowly consuming his senses, the dragoness continuing to close the distance.

“…don’t want you…meeting other monsters.” She whispers, the words burning along his cheeks.

Kris blinks, his heart thrumming in his ears.

“You’re gonna run off and not be here. Gonna be around other monsters, other…”

He swallows painfully, eyes darting about, only able to find the girl’s snout filling his vision.

Was she angry? Worried? It’s not like he wanted to go, really. It was just a few classes throughout the week. He’d leave home, be stuck in some boring lecture, maybe work alongside other students doing projects, at worst spend time after class with-

His eyes widen.

“…girls?”

Susie snarls, the confusion dying in his mind. Fangs spill forth, her lips twisting into a cruel mockery of a grin, bits of her wild hair blanketing the two of them. He feels her claws digging further in, buttons loosening upon his vest from the sheer pressure of her instinctual efforts. She slowly drags herself further along, staring directly into his eyes.

“I-I don’t…” She whispers.

He catches a glimpse. Underneath her twisting mane, through the fangs and claws. Just enough. Enough to see her pupils dart about, searching, trying to find the words and how to make them mean something more. Something beyond the fearsome display.

An uncertainty.

Kris reaches up, mustering what little strength he can find, and places a hand to her cheek, the burning sensation causing him to wince for only a second.

“That’s not going to happen.”

She sighs, maw closing just enough for her to bite her lip gently, “I know. I trust you.”

Her palm lifts away from his chest.

“You know-“ Kris exhales, his lungs burning, “You know I wouldn’t do something like that. Come on, I’ll be back each-“

“But I don’t trust them.”

She presses down once more, locking him in place. Susie’s lips draw closer, dipping low and towards the human’s ear, an inferno breaking along the side of his face.

“Gotta make sure they know you’re mine.”

“U-Uh…” Kris stammers, mind faltering.

“…you trust me?”

The words linger on the edges of his mind, the girl’s voice barely above a whisper. The sound came from somewhere deep, guttural, a demanding tone, but one that still gave an out. One last chance.

Kris’ breath shudders.

“A-Always.”

Susie snorts happily, rising up from the boy. He blinks back to life, silently watching as the girl stretches away, her thin purple tongue darting forward and curling along her fangs. The dim light offers little to define the dragoness’ preparations as she slowly slinks downwards, her palm tracing a claw from his vest to his pants.

“Saw stuff online. Wanted to make sure things worked with…humans.” She sniffs, “Not like it mattered. Was gonna try anyway. Just didn’t want to screw up my first…o-our first-”

Susie shakes her head, a harsh growl catching in her throat.

Kris’ eyes dart down to his waist, watching as claws brush closer and closer, “Susie?”

Her fingers gently loop underneath his belt buckle, the metal creaking as the latch is undone. Barely stopping herself from tearing the leather apart, the strap unfolds, offering little resistance in her determined efforts.

“But then, it’s like, someone was always there. Ralsei would knock on our door, or your mom would come home early.” She chuckles, “Hell, I was gonna grab you that one time we were benched during gym a week ago. Not like Ms. Alphys was looking that time. Could’ve easily hid in here and-“

The words are muffled by the human’s heartbeat, the button on his slacks loosening between her talons.

“And now you’re going away.”

The zipper rumbles down.

“Gotta make sure whoever you run into knows.” She shuffles back further, tossing her messy ponytail over her shoulder, “Smells it on you.”

The dragoness darts down, amber irises lurking in the darkness, an indigo tongue swiping along the tips of her fangs, glinting dangerously in the flashlight’s glow.

“Knows you’re mine.”

Her hands drag the folds of the human’s slacks apart, a smirk pulling at her lips, her eyes lingering on the sizeable bulge below. She releases her grip, carefully looping a claw along his boxers. Susie slowly drags the lining down, further, stretching the material before the human’s member is fully revealed. The cool air causes him to wince, only for waves of heady, moist breaths to coat him, coat what was below. Her eyes widen for a moment, soon returning to their self-satisfied look, scanning along every inch that awaited, bobbing ever so slightly in anticipation. Another gust of burning air brushes along his manhood, fangs nearly cresting along the length.

He turns away, a fire burning on his cheeks.

“Hey.”

Kris forces himself to peer back down, the breath in his lungs stolen at the sight of Susie’s thin tongue darting about, flicking and weaving so close. Agonizingly close.

“Final chance.”

The human gulps.

And weakly smiles.

“Heh. Freak.” Susie hisses, her tongue stretching forth in a flash.

The serpentine form begins to curl from the base of his shaft, wrapping along inch by inch. What starts as a shock of pleasure melts into something more, the thinner bit of her tongue wrapping further until it widens, covering his length and melting what little thought remains. The heat is almost unbearable at first, a fiery sensation causing him to grab onto the seat below, fingers nearly tearing into the quilt. The dragon continues upwards, effortlessly looping her tongue round and round, the snake-like tip of which finally reaches the top of his erection, flicking back and forth. She gently drags it closer, the human’s manhood on full display, scaling towards the tip of the girl’s snout as she softly grunts.

Kris winces, continuing to force himself through the intoxicating heat of the girl’s heaving breaths, until his focus is broken once more. The girl’s tongue begins to wrap and tighten, looping around the top before squeezing tightly. Kris braces himself as she shifts in place, pressing her claws into his thighs, beginning to drag the indigo muscle up and down. The gentle ministrations send the human’s mind spiraling, each wave of pleasure matched by the girl’s satisfied grunts, the moisture of her tongue and that of the human’s excitement blending together. The heat, thankfully, begins to die down, the couple finding a comfortable rhythm of sorts, Kris’ hips beginning to match the girl’s tongue.

Until the dragoness growls.

“W-Whu-“ Kris mutters out.

A forceful hand presses down upon him once more, the tip of her tongue weaving back and forth as she quietly glares at him from below, golden eyes burning through.

His breath hitches. It was a look he had seen before. On the couch when she refused to let him leave the blankets wrapped around them. Lost in bed together, exhausted and sweaty, after training in the Dark World. Even at the lake when she would drag him back down into her arms, asking for one more minute before going home.

A look that said, ‘Don’t move.’

A warning.

Her eyes soften, a single purr emanating out before her tongue curls further, needily dancing along his girth with a renewed pace. The slightly rougher texture clings and envelops, sliding along effortlessly from the moisture so quickly built up. The dragoness’ claws trace along his hips once more, no longer needing to keep him still as his mind is lost to the moment, every bit of effort being used to prevent the inevitable, from ending before the two of them were ready. Susie’s tongue continues to dart about at the top, squeezing for more, tempting him with every movement. She draws him closer, covering every towering inch, causing the boy to shiver in anticipation.

“S-Susie…”

The scales on her lips brush along his erection, sending the human further into his own mind, the patterns of each glimmering purple gem shining brilliantly in the dim light. Her fangs dart closer, threatening to reach her newfound treasure, barely avoiding the human’s length with each bob of her maw. Despite her own efforts though, she begins to close in, temptation to fully embrace him taking over. The heat from her mouth paints his waist in a thin moisture, sweat and saliva coming together as the two lose themselves to the moment, barely noticing the change in tempo.

“S-Su-“ Kris grunts, “Ugh, Susie!”

Her eyes widen, gently pulling away for a moment, her tongue uncoiling bit by bit. With a gentle snap, the deep purple muscle flickers away, a single finger reaching up to brush a bit of drool off her chin.

The human stutters back to life, “S-Sorry, I just…I was going to…”

The words are stolen as the girl reaches up, pressing her cheek to his own, the affectionate display freezing the boy in place. A loving purr rumbles forth, a fearsome sound to most, but one that was so rare to hear that Kris treasured it every time. His eyes strain to meet her own, buried away by the messy mane now covering the two. Kris gently reaches a hand up, resting it upon her back.

“…love you.” He whispers.

“Not done.”

Kris blinks, “What?”

The monster falls against him, her lips finding his own. Barely aware of the girl’s movements, he soon feels a palm clutch the side of his cheek, pulling him deeper into the embrace, desperately searching for more. He struggles at first, the angle of her maw causing their lips to mash together awkwardly, until he sinks down further into the depths of the cushions, allowing the dragon to take what was hers. She buries into him, vicious fangs dancing close, always a threat, but one Kris was happy to see through to the end. Her tongue begins to dance once more, exploring the depths of his mouth, tracing every inch as it wildly darts about, twisting with his own. An earthy smell invades his senses, as if nearing a crackling campfire, heat searing across his features, flared scales leaving their mark in her desperate push for more. Susie draws closer, her chest, and equally thrumming heartbeat, pressing to his own.

Despite the haze in his mind, the human’s hands begin to explore, brushing along the edges of her black tee, easily sensing each individual ridge of her musculature. His fingers loop underneath, trailing along her sculpted form, taking care to memorize each of the unique patterns along her hips. The girl continues her assault as he traces along the small of her back, shying away from the rapidly thrashing stub of a tail. Spending his time elsewhere, Kris moves further upwards, along her spine, rounding towards her chiseled abdominal muscles, risking it all in his advances. His fingers freeze in place, finding a thin strap underneath, cupping along her smaller breasts, the scales softer as he went. A dull thumping continues from behind the dragon as her tail ups its frenzied pace, Kris’ own work continuing as he loops along the tight black bra, gently testing the delicate hooks.
A bit of saliva trails away as Susie looms above once more, a smug look on her lips.

“Not yet.” She grabs the human’s arm, slamming it back down to the cushion at his side, “Not done.”

Kris swallows painfully, a surge of embarrassment replacing the haze of pleasure in his mind. The thought is broken as the dragoness pats him on the cheek, grabbing his attention.

“After.” She whispers.

“After?”

The dragoness simply nods, stalking down to the human’s erection, looming over her prey. Kris stares on, a newfound nervousness bubbling forth as the girl stretches her jaw, snapping shut with a flourish.

“So, you trust me? Like, really, really trust me?”

Kris stares at the yellow eyes hovering in the dark, “Y-Yeah. Of course I do.”

She grins, flashing each individual fang in her maw, bobbing down close to the human’s manhood. Kris’s eye twitches as she loops a finger around, carefully bringing him closer, her talon gently grazing his shaft, another spark flaring in his addled mind. The dragon’s lips part, heady breaths coating him once more, every bit of strength left in his body being used to keep himself still.

Not an easy task.

“I get that. But, like, you sure?” She reaches up, tapping her line of knife-like teeth, “I…I’ll be careful. Promise. I want to try. But I won’t if you don’t wanna risk it.” Susie gently sighs, “Seriously, I’d understand.”

Kris stares down, the girl’s snout looming close. The flashlight’s dim rays cast a glare across her form, exposing the vicious grin and all the dangers possible in such a foolish choice. They could tear, could maim, could ruin something beautiful. Trust or not, there were differences between the two of them. A dragon and human. Some things just couldn’t be left to chance. Some things weren’t worth the risk.

Kris lifts from the seat for a moment, reaching down to brush a bit of the girl’s hair from her eyes, holding close to her cheek, the dragoness nuzzling into his palm.

“I trust you.”

Screw the risk.

Susie’s gaze lingers for a moment, a burning purple heat blooming on her cheek, warming the human’s hand. She reaches up, looping his fingers in between her own, pressing him further to her cheek with a sigh.

“Dumbass.”

Kris’ arm is slammed back to his side, a wild look flashing in the dragon’s eyes. Before the human can even react, she pulls his member forward, plunging down, swallowing him whole.

“Gah!”

Kris gasps, the searing heat and shock of pleasure sending him far and away. Barely able to remain in place, he feels the girl’s tongue loop around once more, dripping along his girth, a wetness that destroyed what little coherent thought was left behind. Susie begins to bob up and down, slow at first, testing, ensuring that he was safe in her hold, taking special care in the angle and rhythm. But, within seconds, she loses herself once more, a frenzy taking over as her tongue swirls around the top of his manhood, taking in every bit of pleasure he could offer. She continues her efforts, fangs grazing dangerously close, flickers of razor-sharp teeth breaking through her lips as she envelops him. A constant risk, but one that she protected him from, her tongue wrapping around fully, needily. Dipping lower and lower, she takes him into her maw, struggling at first to take his full length, but managing to find the right angle, the right moment, to properly embrace his entirety. He feels the tip of his member hit close to the back of her throat, held in place, the searing heat tempting him further. Her scales glimmer amidst the flashlight’s glow, moisture gathering at her lips, leaking forth from her tongue’s continuing spiral.

Kris digs his fingers into the cushions, wincing, a spark forming deep within.

“Su-“

Her tongue loosens, beginning to slide up and down his shaft, a renewed pace surging through the girl.

“Susie! I-“

She continues, grabbing his thighs in her fervor, locking him in place.

“Come on, Susie! You’re gonna…urgh…”

A soft pop rings out, the girl lifting her maw up and away, the intoxicating warmth leaving Kris’ senses.

“Yeah?” She casually mutters.

Kris stares at her, sweat rolling down his face, “You…you know that…t-that…”

“…oh. Right, yeah, I know.” Susie snorts, bracing her elbow between his legs, resting her chin atop her fist. Without hesitation, she brings a single finger to the tip of his member, tapping it teasingly.

Kris grits his teeth, “Come ooon…”

“What?”

“Just…if you don’t want…there’s other ways so you don’t have to-“

“That’s what you’re worried about?” Susie rolls her eyes, “Man, you’re adorable.”

Without a second thought, the girl wraps her claws around his shaft once more, kissing the top before plunging down, resuming her efforts.

“AGH!” Kris bellows, surging forward.

Her tongue envelops him, taking extra care to dance along the tip, tempting him, searching for his release. She glances up, a frustrated look in her eyes, before grabbing the sides of his legs, bouncing up and down in a desperate frenzy. The depths of her maw melt away the human’s resistance, a pressure building and building. The moisture felt throughout, the heat, the constant assault, dragging along the entirety of his form…

It's all he can take.

Susie’s eyes light up, the sudden warmth flowing through and painting the walls of her maw, her tongue lashing about in an effort to take all that he could offer. The human pushes further in, unable to still himself, lost in the dizzying sensation, the monster holding him tight. A prideful grin blooms on the edges of her lips as she takes him fully, continuing to claim the human, ensuring no one else would dare touch what was hers. Taking each burst of pleasure, the moment slows, leaving the human breathless and sweaty.

Another pop rings out into the room as Susie lifts her maw, a soft grunt as she works through what remains, swallowing quietly. Her eyes narrow, a sly smile creasing along her lips, still moist from the mixture of pleasure they shared. Tossing her frazzled ponytail off and away, she stretches forward in a catlike manner, sidling close to the still gasping human. Stalking up to his side, she pulls him close to her chest, burying his face into her petite breasts.

“…mine.” Susie chuckles.

Kris tries to lift up off the cushion, only to be pushed down once more, locked in the girl’s embrace. He smiles through the haze, uncaring of his features pressing into the girl’s chest, “That was…yeah.”

The dragoness rumbles quietly, claws weaving through his messy hair. He continues to blink, bleary-eyed, the thoughts beginning to rush back, wave after wave of realization crashing against him.

“S-Sorry, I just…didn’t think that was something you wanted to-“

Claws sink into his chest, the monster’s eyes flashing in the darkness.

“…Susie?”

“…I just did that. Holy shit.”

Kris reels back, lips twisting in confusion, “Uh…yes?”

“And you were…that was okay? Like, I didn’t hurt you? Wasn’t weird?” Susie sputters out.

“No?”

“Cool! Cool.” She clears her throat, claws loosening from the boy’s vest, leaving loose threads behind.

Kris lifts from the cushion, taking a moment to tend to his twisted boxers, casting a baffled look towards the girl, “Didn’t you say you wanted to do that for a while?”

Her eyes dart about the room, “…y-yeah?” She rises up, pulling her legs close, “I just didn’t think you’d be…cool with it? You’re cool with it, right? Like, I didn’t mean to push you into it, or be weird, or, like, make you feel-“

Kris’ arm wraps around the bundled girl, bringing her maw close to his lips, embracing her. The chaste kiss lasts, but never long enough, before he pulls away, staring her in the eyes.

“…okay. Good! Yeah.” A goofy grin spreads along the girl’s snout, “…dweeb.”

The human shakes his head, “Weren’t you doing the whole, ‘Gotta make sure your mine,’ thing?”

“W-Well, yeah, but I still didn’t know how it’d go! Like, you’re always super quiet and shit! I knew I…w-wanted to, but still!”

A chuckle bubbles up from the human.

“S-Shut-up! You weren’t making the first move or anything! Like, I actually looked shit up-“

“Which is adorable.”

“Goddamn it.” Susie pulls her snout down into the palms of her hands, “I just wanted to make sure everything was possible or whatever.”

“…could’ve asked me.” Kris glances at the storage room’s door absentmindedly.

“What? Yeah, sure. As if a freak like you’d know-“

Crimson eyes narrow in on the girl, “Maybe I did some research too.”

Kris’ hand inches closer, tracing the girl’s thigh and rising along her hips, ensuring his path through each defined muscle on display through her thin black tee.

“…huh. What…what kind of stuff you learn?” Susie relaxes under the touch, eyes glimmering amidst the pitch.

“Couple things.” Kris pauses, swallowing down the nervousness in his chest, “Could show you?”

The dragoness’ arms sweep along his shoulders, drawing him closer, “Uh-huh. I guess you do owe me.”

Kris’ breath shudders, “W-Well, there was this thing, with how dragon tails are-“

“Kris? Young one? Are you and Susie in there?”

The scaled girl’s claws sink painfully into his back.

“Ugh…this darn door sticks every time…” A dull mutter echoes from beyond the storage room, “My child, are you and your friend inside? I should hope you two are simply taking a break from the festivities. You know your mother doesn’t like locked doors young one, so if-“

“H-HERE!”

Kris babbles forth, wincing as the words escape his lips. He glances back at Susie, her hands still hovering in the air, the girl frozen in place. Her eyes dart about, searching him, looking for an answer. Kris opens his mouth, only for the words to die away.

A soft gasp rings out, “Oh! Is it just you in there? Where is your friend?”

“U-Uh…” The human stares at the panic-stricken girl, mind failing him, “We…uh, she’s…hide-and-seek!”

The doorknob fumbles for a moment, stopping only for a moment, long enough to think on the claim, “…hide-and-seek?”

“Y-Yeah! She’s trying to…uh, find me. I’m hiding right now.”

A soft huff emanates from his side as he turns back to Susie, watching as she silently mouths a word. He squints, raising an eyebrow, watching her lips, unable to find any meaning amidst the dark of the room.

The gentle huff soon turns into a growl, barely restrained, “Really?!”

“What do you want me to say?!” Kris hisses.

“You’re hiding? In a locked room?” Toriel chatters on, “My child, that’s hardly fair now. At least give the girl a sporting chance!”

Toriel chuckles from behind the frosted glass window, her shadow looming dangerously, the image thankfully distorted. A small miracle, one that meant the difference between life and death for him.

Or at least a lot of trips to church. Just as bad.

Kris sighs, “Sorry, I’ll come out in just a minute.”

The goat-shaped shadow begins to fade from sight, “Please do my child. You should be spending your time with friends anyway! All your buddies are out there, dancing and having fun! I know you and Susie prefer your alone time playing games…and pranks.”

The human winces, the vitriol dripping from his mother’s words.

“But please, these kinds of experiences are so important. You must leave your comfort zone sometimes and try new things. You never know what you’ll discover!”

Kris glances at the dragoness, a weak smile twisting along her lips. He sighs, looking down, finding claws weaving in between his fingers and squeezing tightly.

“…yeah. I should.” A wistful grin paints his still crimson features, “I’ll be out soon.”

Toriel’s voice echoes past the door, becoming quieter by the second, “Well alright then, I’ll see you in the gym. Be sure to find your friend and come get snacks though! Most of the cookies I brought are already gone, so you better hurry!”

A soft padding sound draws through the darkened school halls, thumping along until fading into the background, the gentle creaking and moaning of the ancient building returning in the absence. Crimsons irises continue to burn into the doorframe, watching for another presence. A second passes. A minute. Only the howling winter winds could be heard, blanketing the walls of the school in another layer of frost. No students bumbling through the hallway, no teacher lying in wait, hawk mask at the ready, not even the thrum of speakers blaring safe-for-school tunes into the nearby gym, now a distant thought in the boy’s mind. Simply the natural sounds of the building settling in for the night, winter making itself known, and a monster breathing down his neck.

Nothing out of the ordinary.

Kris sighs, gently pulling back up on his slacks, looping the frayed button back into place, “Damn it.”

He turns back to the quiet dragoness, finding her buried beneath her mane, fingers twisting through each strand. The human tilts his head to the side, searching, unable to find an expression, a sign that the moment wasn’t entirely ruined.

“…Susie?”

He leans closer, only for the scaled monster to dash off, hopping from the cushions and onto the tiles below with a thud. One of the beanbag chairs slips from the pile, falling from the mats and rolling away, nearly dragging Kris off in the process. A snarl rumbles through the room as she swipes at the flashlight below, the beam once painting the ceiling in a bright glow flickering wildly before closing out to darkness. Kris blinks, staring into nothingness, eyes beginning to adjust as a sliver of moonlight streams into the space, the door creaking open. The dull echo of music flows down the hall and into the storage closet, bringing the human back to reality as he dejectedly sweeps his legs off the makeshift bed. Taking a moment to find the thoroughly stretched ends of his belt, he stands to full, spying the dragoness lurking ahead, leaning wordlessly against the doorframe.

A pit begins to form in his stomach. Why now? Why couldn’t they just have a bit longer together? Time to make this real. To show her that he cared just as much as she did.

“You comin’?” Susie grunts.

Kris bites his lip. Could they go somewhere? His mom would be worried sick, but maybe he could say he spent the night at her apartment, that they left the dance and…

He winces. That wasn’t much better, honestly.

“I…don’t think my mom knows. I think we’re in the clear at least.” The boy sulks, meandering towards the doorway and peering out into the empty hall ahead, “…maybe we could just…not go back? My mom will probably be here for another hour or two, so if we go to my hou-“

The words die in the boy’s throat as Susie strides past, casually turning down into the hall, hands stuffed into her pockets, moonlight streaking across her scales as she nears the corner.

“H-Hey!” Kris stumbles out, loafers squeaking along the ancient brown tiles, “Come on, I know we got interrupted, but-“

“Eh, sounds lame.” Susie grunts, staring past the boy, towards the darkened double doors nearby.

He freezes in place, dumbfounded, “Oh, right, because the storage closet is so much better for…”

The thought sticks in his mind, sending another wave of heat along his cheeks.

“It’s cool.” Susie sniffs, tilting her head to the side, twisting past the human, “Dark World’s closer anyway.”

“Wha-“

A gust of air causes the boy to wince, an unnatural blackness pooling along the moonlit hallway, an eerie hum flowing through the double doors. Kris blinks, focusing, searching for the girl, a pillar of light now framing her towering form. She turns, expression barely visible amidst the ethereal beam behind her, a sly smirk creasing along her lips.

“You…” Kris’ eyes dart about, frantically searching for any curious students nearby, “Susie, people could see!”

The monster shrugs, “Better hurry up then.”

She lunges forward, her black tee fluttering about, hints of her softer, paler scales along her abdomen flashing for a moment. The boy’s eyes lose track of the moment, breath catching in his throat, barely noticing the claws circling around his wrist and pulling him forward.

“Come on, still gotta show me this ‘stuff’ you know.” She grins, a line of cruel teeth on full display, glimmering in the arcane light.

“I-I…” Kris stammers, “But what about the others?! Ralsei! You said he always…interrupts?”

The gravity shifts as the human is dragged into the void, swept into the dragoness’ embrace as she chuckles to herself, drifting down into the darkened kingdom. Claws circle along his back within the weightless space, scales nuzzling close to his cheek, the breath stolen from his chest as he’s drawn closer and closer into her hold. He feels the words burn along the edges of his ear, a fearsome, fiery heat streaking up from his neck and into his cheeks. Lost within the swirling gales and motes of light drifting about, but still heard, whispered close.

“…my door has a lock on it.”
