THE STORY

LIFE EVENTS: "Everything has and end, and all ends become beginnings."

The earliest memories of Kei Matsunaga's life are of wooden floorboards and the summer sun breaking through the shoji doors of his family dojo. The Matsunaga family is one of historied swordsmen and traditional artists. Being able to trace his lineage from a fabled general of the Edo period filled Kei's heart with pride.

+Tournament: It may be because of this that the young boy decided to set his path on the family traditions. He learned how to swing a sword as he learned to tie his shoes. The youth practically slept with a wooden practice blade by his side, and soon enough his diligence and hard work paid off. Victory after victory after victory only sweetened the fruits of his rigorous hard work and the gratitude he felt at his parents for pouring all their support in his choices. All of their efforts ultimately culminated in Junior Division Kendo National Championship.

+Painful Experience: Yet the joy of victory only made the ashes in his mouth fouler. Death came quickly and unexpectedly on the road back home from the celebration party, no real answer can come from the incident. Some believe that the rain made the road indolent, some claim the other driver was either intoxicated or not trained to handle such a vehicle; yet all agree that Kei's survival was by all means a miracle. Though survival was merely a formality, the incident left the youth hospitalized for nearly an entire year with wounds both physical and mental ingrained in his being.

+New Year's Eve and New Year: And despite the year of recovery his body required, his mind only degraded. The grief festered into hatred, and the hatred bloomed into despair. The ever constant feeling of sinking into the depths of apathy only became worse when he returned to his family home. Each corridor a stab of grief in his heart, each room a casket to a person he'll never meet again. The boken awarded to him confined to a box in the back of his closet. And even as extended family came to his aid; the sinking only worsened. Their kindness and consideration did nothing to soothe his ailing heart. The only remedy that was left for him in his mind was to escape the pain by abandoning his home, yet in the final week of preparation to move on, he found a small folded letter written before his birth, addressed to him. With his father's handwriting it spoke of his fears, of his hopes and of his past mistakes. In his mother's handwriting it spoke of their future, of how their only wish was to give him the strength to carry onwards against life merciless trials. And thanks to this letter, they may have done so.

The almighty and thunderous Takemikazuchi was born from the blood of Kagu-Tsuchi splattered by Totsuka-no-Tsurugi while used by Izanagi. Tales of this spirit recall him taming the earth for mankind, vanquishing evil spirits and as the most ferocious rival of Takeminakata. And as the tales of legend tell, this inhabitant of the Idea World is almost a clean copy of the legend. Boisterous, confident and determined to attain his task of protecting the innocent and vanquishing evil to the bitter end. It was only natural for such an archaic will to lend itself to a youth whose soul resonated with those of a warrior, all the more entertaining for him that it was in such a modernized age...
