Claude Opus 4.5-4.6 translation - edited as I read through it, getting rid of mistranslations and fixing awkward sentences. Priority was on literal output, so as little localization as possible.

General notes:

  • Traula's 'nickname' - Trau - can also mean tiger. Toraura = tora(tiger).
  • 'Kuso' elevated to 'fuck' for Sepka when she's cursing, but 'shitty' about someone or something left as-is, since 'fucking' wouldn't fit well in some line iirc so I just kept it.
  • It's a little awkward but I still kept the 'father'/'dad' addresses despite talking to someone else's father. Not an error.
  • Eddie getting an idiom wrong isn't a mistake ("I'll win back my bad name!")
  • Aile is french for 'wing'.
  • Oni with an iron club - Japanese proverb meaning "making something already strong even stronger" (like giving an oni an iron club). "Overkill" if I were to localize.
  • Glow Knight might be Grow Knight. I honestly have no clue.
  • "Just like m-" "Just like marshmallows!" Original used cotton (wata, from cutoff watashi), neither makes much sense.
  • Nayuta is an absurdly large Buddhist number (10^60 or similar). Basically "an impossibly huge number of times" in the context it's used.

Equipment notes:

  • 'Infinity' refers to an ability unlocked later, pretty sure it's about the skill's compatibility with it.
  • "Ignore halve attack" seems to be ignoring an attack reducing buff, apparently different from skills that ignore armor since it stacks - I truly do not want to dig deep into whatever the exact combat mechanics are, spare me.
  • "Applied" and whatever slightly weird term might be left on equipment is because I could not find anything clearer/it wasnt clear in the first place. Not very important either way - it's understandable, just looks pretty ESL'ish.
  • Lances were turned to spears for my own sanity. Kept 'lancer' for unit names though and iirc for spells. lol
  • Strom isn't a typo. The katakana シュトロム (Shutoromu) corresponds to the German word Strom (meaning "current," "stream," or "torrent").
  • Spirit silver is apparently the japanese kanji term for mithril. It was written both that way and in katakana, preserved the difference.

References:

  • I can't be arsed to write out all the chemistry/physics ones - mostly fairly obvious, just know that locations are referencing scientists.
  • Magicaloid weapons are a shinsetsu mahou shoujo reference.
  • Save the queen sword is allegedly a final fantasy reference(?).
  • Drill dragon is referencing https://x.com/ts_tassan/status/1084780157720612864
  • Rest weapons I dunno, probably his other games.

Issues:

  • Translation quality might slightly differ between chapters due to different context windows - im not talking about mistranslations and such, just that some chapters might read stiffer or more natural than others - as in how close they stick to japanese syntax or idiomatic english. Im not sure how much of that will be apparent - if at all - after the editing I've done, but it's still worth noting.
I also remember thinking that I should note finalizing the prompt around chapter 20 when I did it a few months ago, but I don't remember what that entails in practice or if it's even noticeable - probably more consistent formatting or some other minor quality increase.
    • Either way the game should be fully understandable etc, if I've left something unclear, or some particularly awful sentence remains, you can reach me on X (@ShoujoKusuri), or find me on the Room no.49 discord where I blog the games (just ask for the heartium translator or use ctrl+f magic since I use a diff nickname).
  • A few of the combat animation screen lines might be too literal, don't really care to invest the time to fix that though, sorry.
  • Runic defense is referred to differently by a few characters (protection, guard), not sure to what extent I standardized it to the same term.
  • Inconsistencies with ellipsis length are in the original, I tried to keep it as ... and ..... generally while preserving very long ones, but how that worked out varies by chapter
  • The formatting is slightly inconsistent: sometimes all line space (58 characters) is used, sometimes the sentence is broken into 2 lines even though it could fit in one - mostly due to following original newlines.
  • Continuing on newline formatting (3 lines fit per message window) the game had an empty line sometimes to showcase shock or longer silence, I think I might've kept them at the start but opted to completely move them to next message window instead later. A few of these pauses might've been lost entirely due to having to introduce new newlines too - it's a very minor issue like the other two, but worth noting since it ruins the author's work somewhat.

Though considering Heartium is free, I do not want to see any money unless you've also paid the original author first.
