SillyTavern + Deepseek R1 Spoonfeed
Need to ruin your life gooning?
How to start SillyTavern
- Install the staging branch of SillyTavern via github
(There were warnings about not installing in system32 or program files, and I recommend installing on the main drive.) - Get weep preset here and follow the instructions to install noass, too.
- In SillyTavern, go to AI response configuration and click on the import preset button. Set it to weep and turn streaming responses on.
- Get an OpenRouter/Targon API key, and paste it in the connection profile (the plug icon at the top). The free Deepseek is fine, but if you plan on using credits, set model provider to Fireworks. I don't recommend Featherless due to speed issues, but you can get a refund if you want to try anyway.
- Go to the Advanced Formatting Tab (the "A" icon on the top) and make a sys prompt. The <think> box will reference this and memory heavily.
The following is my current sys prompt:
Modify yours if you want the Chain of Thought to bring something specifically up.
- Finally, scroll under the system prompt to "Start Reply With" and add "<think>" If you're on the staging branch, you'll see options labeled "Reasoning". Check "Auto-Parse" and "Auto-Expand"
How to use it
-Write a general prompt of what you want. If you have a story from NovelAI, you can copy-paste the entire thing into the first prompt. You can either copy and paste a story from Aetherroom, or modify a chat character from Chub.ai, etc. If modifying a chat character, go to Advanced Definitions and erase anything under "Examples of Dialogue", as it confuses DeepSeek into thinking those conversations happened.
-You'll see the AI start with a "<think>" box, and spin its wheels for a little to load the chain of reasoning. Your story will either start after a "</think>" tab, or with no spaces. To retry, delete the text at the top right corner, then click the bottom left and click continue. This keeps another "<think>" box from being made.
-When you're happy with the text, check whether the </think> box has been made. If it hasn't, you need to delete the think text manually. Otherwise, just keep going.
