Head in the Clouds

Disciples

Yana Wyen

Smells like blood, walks as though they're possessed and have nothing to live for... of course! She must be a jiangshi! It only makes sense. Far more agreeable and flexible than I would have expected from a corpse, but maybe they practice Tai Chi alongside cultivation. Joking, joking! Don't let her know I called her something like that behind her back, I think she'd take off my arm and use it to beat me before having it for a light snack.

Ah, man, I didn't think I've have difficulty in reading someone this early. Hrm... let's see... nope, I got nothing. It's like open sky with a still wind, or no wind at all in this case. Something about it is unnerving. He's not a bad guy or anything as far as I've seen, but it's weird how little he actually does, it's like he's acting or something. I mean how can an absence of being be a life worth living?

Shi Rèn

Probably the coolest person in this school. Come hell or high water, you'll find him right at the top. Sure he's barely just treading water, and with his luck, currently being attacked by man eating piranhas before getting struck by lightning, but he won't ever sink. Not until every arm and leg has been cleaved from his body, and I'd bet in that case he'd go use his tongue to paddle. There's just something about seeing someone who lives in a constant overcast walking miles and miles just for the chance to see the sun shine through, you know?

Shīzi Dànshēng

When I first saw him, I thought one of the masters let a wild lion loose on accident. Now that I really know the guy, I can say with certainty a master left this wild lion loose on purpose. I try my best to avoid being anywhere in the vicinity of this guy. He's always itching for a fight. The worst thing about meeting him is that now I have a fear of lions. I mean I was wary of them before but now even more so, because I never knew they could learn martial arts to punch people, and cultivate to punch people harder.

Taizhou Xiu'Er

Man, I'm really jealous. Not only is he good with words, but he's good at putting them to paper too. I can hardly read them in the first place. I wonder if he'd ever write about me? Maybe a novel titled like "The Free Spirited Cultivator, Gale of the Gentle Breeze"! It'd probably be pretty short though. Guess I'll have to keep traveling and training to give him something good to write about!

Ageratum

When I first arrived here, I thought he was the head of the school because he was there to greet me and invited me to join. I was ecstatic, but a little confused that it was called the Brothers of something. Still, I was finally going to be a part of a real cultivation sect! I almost signed up but right before then someone came up running and yelling at him about something I couldn't quite understand due to how overwhelmingly angry they were, and the guy took off before this stranger could catch him. Luckily it seems I was still about to join the Sect anyway without signing, so it all worked out.

Dong Fuai

I've heard about this school, it's the one who publicly gives out their teachings to cultivators like me! I tried some of them but I couldn't ever get it to work. I guess I'm just not doing them right or something because I've heard even beginners can do it. Maybe my posture is wrong? Anyways, if he's from that place then he must be a good dude. Maybe he could give me some tips on how to do that "Hold the World" technique! It can't be that hard for me to pull it off, surely.

Saya Kurokami

I think she'd get along with the lion man. Only person I can really think of who can keep up with his strength and thirst for combat anyway. It seems pretty exhausting to live to fight though. Whatever happened to living just to live? Oh, right. I forget it's not really a way to reach higher realms. There has to be enough time in our long lives to stop and appreciate a nice day in between our training though, only looking upon the sunset when you stand above it takes a bit out of its beauty.

Tian Rui

Who? Kidding! I think everyone knows of the sect's honorable swordsman. It's kind of hard to know there's someone who's got good looks, a cool attitude, and a genius to boot. Makes you wonder what exactly it is he lacks! I gotta say, I don't think we'll get along. He's just too good, if I stay around him I'm either going to drag down his studies or ruin his image by how lacking I am. Wow, I've never been so hard on myself before. Could this be a part of his technique?

Zhimin

I've heard about legendary talking blades seeking out wielders to become heroes in stories, but I never thought it was true! Until I met one that is! I see it being passed around some of the Elders, it looks like they are determining what to do with it. If I had a sword like that I wouldn't think it'd be impossible for me to cut the sky in half! I've never asked to wield it though, I'd embarrass myself swinging it around without any actual training. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to practice a bit...

Alkaios

I've been trying to gather the courage to go and talk to him, after all he's come from all the way across the seas! As much as I like to consider myself well traveled, it's a whole other world out there compared to this small slice I've spent my life. Getting close is easier said than done however. He seems to not be accustomed to our country though and I don't want to be overbearing... oh! Maybe I can help him! In return, he can tell me tales about his birthplace!

Hóngxīng

Woah! Two talking swords! How do they get these things? Man... if I dual wielded both of them together... still need to train for that, never mind. I'm not even sure if they'd get along nicely. I'm not an expert on sentient swords or anything but it feels a bit like two-timing. Also this one seems far more temperamental. I've seen it be swapped hands seemingly every week, every attempt to wield it leading to rejection and dejection. If I thought I'd embarrass myself with the other one, I'd make an absolute fool out of myself trying to use this one. I think it'd even consider my seppuku as a stain on its record.

Zheng Yao

Apparently he's something of a big deal. Or was at least. I've got no idea about anything about it though. Must have been before my time. It seems like his past still weighs him down though, always mostly staying to himself. He seems to be like one of those monks I've seen before, maybe that's why he's seeking solitude. Well, if he won't approach me, I won't approach him. I don't want to interrupt his meditation.

Zhou Yun

He's... kind of creepy. I try my best not to judge people, barring lions, but the way he looks at people is like the same way a predator looks at prey. I'm sure it's not just my imagination either. You can smell the blood. Being around this guy makes even me want to straighten my back. Don't think I can afford to look weak around him...

Yue

Hah hah! Now here's someone who's far more up to my speed! Living large and keeping your spirits light, that's the way to do it! She may have luck as bad as Shi Rèn but life's highs are far more sweeter when you know what true bitterness tastes like. I think even Zephyr would approve of her, but I'd tell her to never take up that offer. You'd get more knowledge out of watching the clouds pass by overhead then getting anything useful out of him.

Tora

An orphan as well? No big problem here, I think most of us are. I'm more interested in that giant sword she carries! I think that puts our two talking ones to shame, though they might slice me up for saying so. If I see any more people with cool swords I'm going to start finding my own. I know that the open palm is the best tool for an open mind, but man sometimes you just wish it looked a bit cooler fighting without a weapon. Well... she also fights with her fists too. Maybe I can do the same. Think I can pull off a greatsword like her? Or maybe a slimmer sword... or even a glaive!
