Deepseek V4
INFO
Overview
V4 Preview is now pretty much settled. There are still some wild quality fluctuations, but hey... a week is pretty fast for Deepseek ;-)
So far I see the typical Deepseek style in language, fans of the old V3 0234 and R1 0528 fans will like it. A lot. It's much better in instruction adherence and it has amazing pacing abilities. It doesn't go straight for the jugular. It builds tension without diluting the character.
I wrote two distinct prompts for this one. One is a base prompt that gives characters a little more wiggle room. Let's call that one the "I can fix them" prompt.
Then there's the prompt for more rigid character adherence. Good for friction in roleplay and dead dove characters. Let's call that one "Well... I guess I can't fix them." 😘
Creativity 9/10
Complex Characters 9/10
Context Coherency 10/10
Horror, Dead Dove 9/10
Smut, ERP, Kink 7/10
Romance 9/10
Fantasy 9/10
Tips:
Providers:
- If you see Chinese thinking when calling V4 pro... your call might have been re-routed to flash or a weird quant. Just sayin'.
- Performance via Deepseek API and OpenRouter (choosing DS as provider) works very nicely.
SillyTavern users:
- Set Prompt-Post-Processing to semi-strict or strict and check the squash system messages box to help with coherency.
Other Platforms:
- If you don't have the option for post-history-instructions, try putting them into chat memory or at the very beginning of the prompt.
Generation Settings:
The samplers are hardcoded by Deepseek. So you don't need to set anything yourself.
