An eventful day was had to say the least
You and your friends had been through a lot
You had, with the help of an old turtle you met on the way, successfully gotten through a new dark world, in the hallowed halls of the church
And you even almost died because of Susie's (fairly stupid) idea of dunking you straight into the Titan's face hole
But luckily, you had a power that no one else had
The power of the SOUL
And it shone a light so bright, that it eviscerated the Titan from the inside out...
Your feet hit the ground as you landed safely
Your knees buckled in exhaustion, and you took a second to catch your breath
All that climbing might've been catching up to you
"W... We did it..." you heard your friend Susie speak to you
After taking a few more moments, you rose up off of the ground
Taking in your surroundings, you were in what looked to be a circular room, with bookcases lining the walls that reached to the heavens
Susie stood up not too long after you do
"... hey Kris, what's the deal with that red heart thing..?
Is that... your..."
But then something happened
The ground rumbled, almost enough to knock you off your feet, and what felt like an invisible wave washed over the two of you from the path ahead
You didn't know what but... something was wrong
almost as if Something had changed everything
"What the hell was that?!
Did we not finish off the Titan all the way? Or..."
Her eyes widened as she realized how they lost track of the Knight after the Titan appeared
"T-the old man! He might be in trouble!
C'mon Kris, we've gotta go help him!"
She ran ahead, off into the darkness
At the same time, you heard another familiar voice from behind you
"Kris!"
You turned around to meet your other, fluffier friend
"Kris... Kris, you're alright...!
I can't believe... it actually worked!
We... actually defeated a Titan...!
If we can do that, then..."
But then Ralsei noticed that Susie wasn't there
He turned his head towards the dark hallway ahead
"Kris, w...where's Susie?"
The color visibly drained from his eyes behind his glasses as he turned and started running down the hallway that Susie had ran down mere moments before
"SUSIE, WAIT!!"
Wasting no time, you ran down the dark hallway after them
... However it did not take too long catch up to the two of them
Ralsei and Susie stood in front of a panel of the Prophecy
Susie looked on, tilting her head
"Hey Ralsei, what does this one mean?"
Ralsei, however looked immensely shocked
More shocked than he's ever shown in the rather short time that you've known him
as if his entire life had been upturned in one swift moment
He took a step towards the glowing wall, disbelief reflected in his wide eyes
"I... I don't understand...
How could... how did..
I... I..."
His brain had completely shut down, it seems
You look up at the glowing panel on the black wall to read
BY A FLEDGLING'S WILL
A SLATE WIPED CLEAN
Some sort of axe looking thing was below the words
You have a feeling you've seen it before...
"Hey, are you good, Ralsei?"
It seems Susie had noticed Ralsei's inner plight
Ralsei however could not hear her call out to him
"Did... did we do it?"
This time it was Ralsei who ran off ahead of the two of you
"Hey, wait!"
Susie reached out her hand, but then gave up and turned back to you
"Oh yeah.
I called out to the old man, but I don't think he's around here.
I don't really know what that earthquake could have been but...
I guess while we're here we could read more."
You and Susie walk down the hallway
Each one of your footsteps reverberate around the blackened hallway
Reaching the next panel you look up and read
A NEW PROPHECY'S END
WRITTEN IN GREEN
Underneath the words was a greater-than sign
What could it mean?
"A new prophecy's end..?
Wait"
A look of realization dawned across her face
"Holy shit, Kris, are you seeing this?
I think we changed the prophecy!
Maybe when we killed that Titan, everything changed!
Let's see the next one!"
You and Susie walked down the hallway, reading each panel
A DOOR TO NEW WORLDS
OPENS WIDE IN THE EAST
Underneath it was what looked like the great door that was in Castle Town
Susie walked over to the next one a wide grin on her face
THREE FRIENDS WALK INSIDE
TO CLOSE WHAT'S UNLEASHED
The panel showed three figures under under a tree
"Damn, guess we got demoted from heroes to just friends, heh."
Her smile got a little bit smaller, almost an unnoticeable degree
AT THE END OF THE ROAD
A TRIAL BY FIRE
A smile and a pair of eyes were under this one
You feel as if the eyes are following you as you move past.
"Alright that sounds... kind of ominous."
Her smile started to falter
TWO ANGELS FIGHT
WITH PUPPETS ON WIRE
Two figures stood across from each other, swords drawn
"..."
Susie didn't have much to say about the panel
Perhaps the the panel one over caught her eye more
But for some reason, looking at this one in front of you...
It makes you feel incredibly uneasy.
You keep walking, alongside Susie, although she started slowing down
"What the hell..."
EVERYTHING WILL BE LOST
GONE BEYOND ALL REPAIR
The image of houses burning seemed to seal your fate
Susie had fully stopped by the time she was done reading it
Her brow furrowed and her mouth opened in disbelief
"Am I reading this wrong?
We did something good, right?
We killed a Titan damnit!"
Susie looked down, her hair covering her eyes
She then clenched her fist with the intent to break the nearest object
So why is it..."
Just as she raises her fist
You heard a noise that surprised both you and Susie
The sound of glass shattering and falling onto the ground
Looking over, your eyes found the source of the sound
The final prophecy panel
It was broken to mere shards by the goat standing in front of it
Ralsei collapsed to his knees and gripped a broken piece of the prophecy in his hands
He tightened his grip on it, and his face wincing as he crushed it in his hand
And then his tears started to flow down his face
"I thought that...
I thought that if we could change the prophecy,
Then it could have been better.
That no one would be hurt.
But now, instead..."
Ralsei drooped his head lower, and let go of the now smaller glass shards
The gashes left behind underneath the fur drew no blood, only pain
"Kris, Susie...
I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry.
I've failed not just you, but lightners as a whole.
Maybe things would have just been better if we-"
Susie put a hand on Ralsei's shoulder
"Ralsei, come on, you can't really believe that stuff, right?
As long as me, you, and Kris are here, there's no way in hell that that's happening.
We'll protect both the light world AND the dark world.
And that's a fact."
Ralsei looked up at Susie
"I wish I could believe you Susie...
I wish I could have as much hope as you do...
But what hope is there to be had?
We actually did the impossible, we change the prophecy!
And it was all for nothing.
It's worse than when it started."
"Heh, I don't see what the big deal is."
Susie stretched her arms, before crossing them behind her head, and giving Ralsei a toothy grin.
"We've changed it already once, we'll be able to change it again.
Then once everything's fixed, And all of this prophecy shit's behind us.
You can make the biggest cake ever made. And you, me, and Kris?
We're gonna eat until our stomachs hurt.
Alright, Ralsei?"
You knelt down next to Ralsei and gave him a hug
Weirdly enough, he seemed to have flinched as you wrapped your arms around him
Although Ralsei quickly melted into your arms, hugging you back
He let out a something in-between a chuckle and a sob, and then began to speak
"You two make me feel so... strange.
Back when I was waiting for you two, I never thought that I could feel like this.
I wasn't... made to feel like this.
I have hopes, aspirations, a will of my own...
I feel like... like I matter.
And you two are the whole reason why.
So... from the bottom of my heart...
Thank you."
You reached over to tug on Susie's leg, indicating that she should join
She sighed, making a show of joining in on the hug, but you knew she wanted to join in
You could tell by small, yet warm smile on her face, and the wag on her tail...
The three of you stayed hugging for a while, but all good things must come to an end
Susie stood up first, yawning
"Alright well, let's meet up tomorrow, then we can try to decipher this new prophecy
Can't change destiny sleep deprived."
She turned towards the way forward
"See ya at the fountain, Kris."
And then she walked off, rounding the corner towards the fountain of darkness
Turning your head back to Ralsei, he had put his hand on your arm, a silent ask for the pleasant hug to end
"Kris, this might a tad bit weird to ask, especially when you're about to leave, but...
"D-don't you ever wonder what people get up to at night?
It might be fun to close your eyes and think about it!"

Ralsei looks over to an unimportant patch on the wall, almost like he was seeing Something
"A-alright! I've probably taken up enough of your time."
He stands up and brushes his robe
"See you tomorrow, Kris!"
You also stand up, but before you walked off to join Susie at the dark fountain, you wanted to check something
You walked over to the broken prophecy panel
It was almost unreadable, but...
You see something that reminds you of Noelle's mom.
You walked away from the panels and down the hallway, all the way until you reach the end and round the corner
It seemed that Snoozie was sat against the wall at the moment
You kick her leg until she wakes up
"Huh?"
And then she looked up at you
"Jeez, finally.
I was wondering when you'd get done."
Susie put her hand against the wall, and pushed herself up
"So Kris, you gotta tell me.
What were you and Ralsei talking about over there?"
You divulge the entirety of what you and Ralsei were talking about to Susie.
"SHUT THE HELL UP, RALSEI DID NOT TELL YOU HOW TO MAKE A PIPEBOMB"
You gave a quiet chuckle as you walked past Susie over to the dark fountain
In all honesty, it was a quite bit more vibrant than the name implied
It glowed and swapped from color to color
It sort of reminded you of Berdly's RGB setup
But before you could think more about birds and computers, you noticed Susie's looking at you
"Hey Kris...
Can I tell you
... a stupid hope I have?"
She looked towards the dark fountain, the glow making her face radiate
"No matter what
I... want to keep being friends with you and Ralsei.
Even if everything changes
I want to wake up and be able to see you and Ralsei everyday
I want us to have more adventures
Forever
And one day, I want to do something special for Ralsei
I want...
I want to show him the sun.
Kris...
Do you feel the same way?
... Actually... Scratch that."
She turned back towards you
"You don't have to say anything, Kris.
I already know your answer.
It's written all over your face, dumbass."
Susie's smile, which seemed to defeat everything
Shined on in front of you, and for a moment
it was as if all the darkness had been blown away
As if in imitation, your soul began to glow...
It hovered out in front of you, into the towering spire of darkness in front of you
And reflected the glow from Susie's smile...
30 minutes later
You and Susie looked around the church for your mother, to no avail
It turns out that your mother had canceled choir practice and was home safe
Unfortunately, the thing that had occupied her after canceling was getting drunk with the annoying skeleton that ran the convenience store
Susie ultimately decided to not spend another night over, the look in her eyes painted a depressing picture before she turned around and walked away from your house

The next time (you) come to, it seems like (you)'re in the bird cage again
Kris was having a hard time sleeping due to Toriel and Sans downstairs
He rocked and twisted in his bed in agony
He covered his ears with his hands to block out the noise
When that didn't work, he even swapped his hands for the pillow
None of it did much for the human, however
It looked like he was at the end of his rope...
But then he head something that pierced through the sounds
It was as clear as a blue sky, as if he couldn't hear anything else
Susie's voice.
Kris unscrewed his fingers from the pillow and let it fall back to the bed
He Rolled over to the bedside and set his feet on the ground
Kris shambled over to the window, each step that he took seemed to be a struggle
But then he finally made it
and Susie was there
She was down in front of Kris's house
"...
We... can fix everything...
... Right?"
She spoke
But nobody answered, except for the skies above
The rain covered the sound of her footsteps as she walked away
Kris put his hand on the windowsill, and lifted himself up onto it
Where was he going? After Susie, maybe? (you) couldn't tell
Kris was just about to jump down when
Ring ring
The phone rang on the floor
Maybe it had fallen onto the ground when he was tumbling around in the bed
"... Kris ...
Need to talk...
