Demon King Dabura Challenged (3-623-210-836)

  • Pros:
    • Fucking love the banter on Garlic Jr. and Dabura, chef's fucking kiss dialogue there. Weird the lad has hyper armor but I like it, makes for a different approach on the fight than normal and unlike giants, camera's not an extra opponent to deal with. Dabura's lines on Janemba is nice and I like his brutal AI. Overall did have fun with the mission, can't really comment on BGM as I was busy landing one of the sickest grabs in the game.
  • Cons:
    • The loss conditions. They're just not intuitive/warned about and only something you'll accidentally stumble into as of now. Was able to figure out Janemba's loss condition but for the longest time thought Beerus was a puzzle until I just went deep in the sparking combo tank on Whis.
  • Changes to consider/misc. thoughts:
    • For Whis and the whole loss condition I'd consider better dialogue here to let the player know what they might've been doing wrong, something from Beerus of him being bored/hungry after the half-way mark on time with Whis to hint that its a DPS race would be really good. Thought I had to lose against Garlic Jr. to cheese the super attack or do a taunt on Janemba to get him to join my party and have a 2nd body to fight against Whis/Beerus.
    • I think a little adjustment with Whis and I think you have a hard but fair DPS race (note that his AI is specialized to play defensive and wait in the back, you are approaching him not the other way around), 10-15% more damage on Dabura, 5-8k less health on Whis, 8-10 more seconds, just a little tweak. Currently you pretty much have to open the fight with sparking and go deep into optimal sparking combos (I one time ulted on Beerus as he switched on a flying Whis). Will note that after going again when you renamed the mission and I got it 2nd try, this could also just be me being rusty as fuck/not familiar with Dabura and a break from Sparking Zero.

Trunks Returns Home (3-617-637-713)

  • Pros:
    • Dialogue is well handled for the most part, the events + in-game cutscenes are good, fights and AI were nice, it is a well put together mission.
  • Cons:
    • Nothing really beyond maybe one line being a bit jank but that could just be Z0 issues.
    • Maybe Dabura's fight could have more going on, maybe we can punch Babidi just to have a bit more health to go through. The biggest issue to me is that this mission just feels like white noise but this could be a personal thing of just not vibing with custom missions that replicate what's already there.
  • Changes to consider/misc. thoughts:
    • Trunks on the fight against A17 should mention family rather than just brothers, understand if Sparking Zero UI limitation on this one.
    • Maybe have Kibito's death be an event to make more sense of it happening considering it happened while I was wailing on Dabura's face, didn't even transform on the 2nd run seeing for alt win-cons, something like landing a breath/flame into event of scared Supreme Kai?
    • This is just the future arc of DBS from Trunks' POV and I really don't get any strong feelings from such missions, this isn't a diss on Mr 2Kreepie, just more that this is giving me nothing to work with for thoughts. Will be neat to see how

Vegeta vs Goku? (3-173-237-957)

  • Pros:
    • Again with the dialogue, you're hitting the nice strokes and it makes the missions really click. And how Adult Gohan uses it is a great hint at to what causes the transition to Merged Zamasu, five stars.
    • I like the disabling of Full Power for Super Baby 2, nice lever of balancing to make the alt ending harder to get but also reasonable/fair.
    • Kino ending with Zamasu (Baby) and even with the ending from going Giant is cool.
  • Cons:
    • Less an issue with the mission and more the base game:
      • Can we not auto-start fights on lock-on? It is a bit annoying when both I and the AI are playing wackamole with buildings because where are we? Got better with retries a bit but still annoying.
      • I was able to win first try with giant but holy fuck do I hate the forms. Not an issue with you, just the game/personal taste issue. How the fuck can anyone stomach playing these combo-less buffoons? I fucking burst dash and get nothing, I can't counter unless its super counter, I have no combos, and somehow I couldn't get a grab?
    • Couple of dialogue hiccups.
  • Changes to consider/misc. thoughts:
    • Maybe for the ending dialogue have Zamasu (Baby) instead of Zamasu as the speaker but that's minor. Also New Planet Plant instead of New Planet Vegeta if possible for an ending cutscene.
    • Maybe have a way to get Trunks (Baby) into the equation though that might be more for a Custom Mission Saga ordeal where perhaps in this, Baby didn't just defeat the GT crew but also turned them all into tuffles. To give Zamasu a bit more to work with, maybe Goku Black and him landed on Namek and they're helping as part of their "redemption", or maybe they land in the kais and have Supreme Kai to try and fix the Tuffle situation (maybe even Beerus gets dragged into this?).
      • Another thing to consider if this is post tuffle-plan on U7, maybe have Piccolo/Nail/Buu (Baby) to just to have more variety in his cast and you could make a mission/saga thing about Zamasu showing him other universes to extend his reach, there's probably room here for a deranged Tournament of Power thing off of this.
    • Notes for the other/harder version (3-509-439-088):
      • I prefer the extra HP that Goku Black/Merged Zamasu have over this version I'm going over but what is here is also fine if aiming an easier mission and could easily be personal taste. Took a few tries but I was able to get the alt ending for baby on this harder version.
