BOOMEUS EXILED

PROLOGUE

(Belphaegor the Councilman appears to a choir of Yubicrafter spectators. It's a clear space on a cliff, behind Boomeus' house, at dusk)

BELPHAEGOR - I beg the gods to guide me with the light of their wisdom, because I fear this silent night to be as dark as the skin of those who fell into the primordial hole. The howl of feasting wolves pierces the serenity of my travels, and the distant cackles of scheming witches are quickening my steps.
But none of these calamities are as terrible as the sight of this populous congregation. What has brought you here, good people of Yubicraft, in the wake of such disgrace?

CHOIR - Fire, fire in the hearts of men. By the glory of Pekora of the braided locks, and the mercy of Choco of the succulent horns, it has come to pass what was only told on legend. We have come here from far and wide to witness the events that were foretold when the glorious hero Boomeus once consulted the Great Oracle of Mio. Oh, Benevolant Mother of Fortune, great Hag who protects the suplicants, have mercy on the fate of this once proud warrior who you told the unfortunate truth of his future. With fulgurant nightmares you revealed in his dreams the landscape of his nation, being slashed in half by a wooden sword. And in his great sorrow he found the solace of his brawn and bravery, as he swore to defend the proud city of Nenepro from any threat fate decided to bestow on their way. The hard iron of his armor could only be matched by the strenght of his unwavering conviction that hailed him as the Champion of Nekkos.
But soon is the hour in which, with scalding words, those who once held him in great regards will confront him and test his measure. Who then will be here to stop the great missfortunes that approach his way? May the will of the gods take place, and lead us all into the bright future, for here comes one between the trees, with shining eyes and swift pace.

BELPHAEGOR: Make way, by Elira of the Soothing Words, for time is short and Kronni does not wait for the sluggish

CHOIR - It shall be done, our esteemed councilman. Long gone are the green fields where Haatons roll, the sunken swamps of Takotown you swiftly crossed, and the deep forests of Nenepro you once saw on the distance. On this clearing where the first rays of dawn bathes your sights and our shadows expand into the edges of the cliff, you have arrived to impart justice in the name of the gods. Remember now what the High Council has tasked you, and prepare to put an end to this reckless conflict.

BELPHAEGOR - And yet I fear that, despite my haste, it's all too late for us to stop these events. The dusk was red like the heart of warring men when they silence their Goddess' advice in favour of bloodlust and rage.

CHOIR - Pray, Belphaegor the Haaton, that your time is right and with the grace of Her of the Red Banner, an understanding can be reached among the parties.

BELPHAEGOR - Wise are your words, people of Yubicraft, but tell me: What has caused this quarrel between these once sister cities?

CHOIR - Madness. Madness and greed have dragged these valiant and just heroes, pulling them from the righteous path our gods designed. Gone are the days of old hospitality, when land had no ruler but those who walked on it with the sole purpose of worshipping. And now, here we are. On these very cliffs where the first hoomans arrived not so long ago, and Nenepro graciously conceeded some of their blessed territory in order to accomodate the new guests. But their monuments were impressive and their combat prowess too mighty to be ignored, and soon resentment grew in the heart of Nekkos, ill-fatedly comparing their own achievements with those of the Hoomans.
Cursed be the envy that, like a hidden pufferfish, strikes with deadly poison if as a much as a hair swims near it.
The Champion of all Nekkos has gone to the river below the cliff, to wash and clean the glorious weapons from the blood of the husks, anger still in his heart over the news of Hooman expansion.

BELPHAEGOR - Certainly, distressing it must be to know yourself to be outnumbered by warriors of trade. But peace must remain, above all else, as it was written in the early days.

CHOIR - Of what happens next, we can only hope for your success. Oh, May the gods show compassion and forgiveness to the offense of angry men, who above all wish for honour to their people! This is the wish of us, those who stay and protect the memory of the fallen.

EPISODE I

(Enter Boomeus from the river)

BOOMEUS - Rejoice, great people of Yubicraft! As the night lights rise into the sky, so does the will and fortune of the Nekkos in this just crusade. The shining weapons are clean, the sturdy armor fitted. Prepare to recieve the great news of victory as soon as daylight casts my standing shadow on the soft grass. But you, there. I know who those piercing eyes of judgement belong to, councilman. You may tell your idling brethren to arrive as well, if they wish to stop me from my rightful quarrel.

BELPHAGOR - What are you saying, brave hero? Do you not see what your ill-fated words can bring upon your people?

BOOMEUS - It won't be worse than what awaits if we were to listen to your mild and soft speech. Well aware am I of the designs of the council, and your reticence to take a side.

BELPHAGOR - Your anger is speaking in your place. I have seen with my own eyes the horrors of sensless wars for a cube of land, when my name was called to do my duty and defend the wall against the forces of Takotown. And what did the great conflict award us? A pile of scarred carcasses to be burned, plague and famine on the scorched fields, shame on the banners of Hearts and Takos. Nothing is to be gained from this, only the reproach of those who walk among the clouds.

BOOMEUS - And who are you to speak so certain of the will of the gods?

BELPHAEGOR - Only the words they give to me in my dreams are the ones that leave my mouth.

BOOMEUS - Then let it remain shut like Quake's Helm if you seek to impede me. I too have been given divine words through the oniric worlds, but none of them have yet to come true.

BELPHAEGOR - Then, if you choose to remain ignorant to the advice of the gods, listen to those of your peers. Do not persist in this endeavour, and heed the call of the council. Nekkos and Hoomans are required to -

BOOMEUS - ...coexist? What to expect of a Haaton, but a heart of straw forever trapped on doubtful thoughts. Feeble are your legs and your arms are that of sand, unable to decide between the many faces of she who your people worship. What good in a council is a man who can't choose of his own will?
I have had enough of this discourse. Of my own choice I did not escape my mother's womb, and neither was mine the call to live a life of mountainous solitude. To liberate Nenepro of the dark beasts that roamed its land was bestowed upon me without question. But those and more tasks I completed with determination and conviction, for every victory was an offering for Nene of the Bear paws.
And now, while absent as I fought side by side with my Yukimin brethren against the Endermen of the west, once more without my knowledge, my countrymen offer hospitality to a nation of mercenaries and sadists, who replied to our traditions by declaring their temporary resting space as their own rightful land.
Cursed be the hoomans, and cursed be their false idol who allow their people to behave in such a way. By the might of my sword they shall be expelled of this land, their wooden monuments eaten by the maws of raging fires. And let it be known that where many conceeded, Boomeus stood.

STASIMON I

CHOIR - Brave and valiant you are, oh Boomeus! Your heart is most sincere, your words like golden wind! But hear our plea and don't let the high spirits cloud your judgement! For the Gods do not discern between intentions, only the actions of men are to be held accountable!

EPISODE II

SHARP - Open the door, brave hero. We have come to seek parliament with your, if you were gracious enough to conceed us your presence. You have been a fair and generous host, please allow us to find a good port for this argument.

CHOIR - Is it you, Sharp, champion of the Hoomans? We hear the thunderous notes of your voice, and avert our eyes of the shining glares from your iron armour. Oh! What a terrible and majestic sight to see a warrior of She Who Likes To Watch! The sands of time swirl at your feet, the vermillion stains of berries covering the sandals you stomp the ground with. Why have you come here, to seek he who has denounced you?

SHARP - Good people of this land I now call home, I arrive at the Nekko's champions lodge with nothing but gratitude in my heart. Near the anvil, surrounded by tourches I left my sword, for I have no intention to engage the man who so amicably offered to host our people.
When we left our homeland of Who following the designs of Mumei of the forgetful mind, it was without knowledge of the country we would find. There was no shelter from the rain, no shade to keep our skin from burning with the sun's rage. But She who cares for the Peaches offered us a soft bed, on the cliffs of her nation we rested, and her people showed hospitality. We would never betray the trust of such caring host.

CHOIR - Then tell oh why, wise and tempered owl of the east, have your people pushed the boundaries of your
