A Nice Day Out

He liked the rain, at least when it wasn't too overbearing. Just a light shower to cool you down and slightly dampen the skin and robes. Plenty of other students were present in the courtyard too, and he watched them go about their business. Some practicing spellwork, others their Quiddich swings.. Most simply talked, discussing anything from the day's activities to whatever current gossip the school found interesting.

"Is this seat open?" The voice was soft, feminine. His head turned to find one of the Hufflepuff witches there, Florana he knew her as. He'd seen the girl with Ioni a few times and while he wasn't certain, there was probably something between those two. "Oh, feel free." came the reply a drawn-out moment later, he wasn't sure why he had to think on it - it was rare for him to share a bench with someone. Especially among the students who didn't.. know.

A trio of boys passed them, dressed for adventuring by the looks of it. It was difficult to identify them all but he noted one as Artie Black, one of the friendlier Slytherins. A slight lump rose in his throat and lips parted to call out, but the excited party were some distance away already. He swallowed hard and sank back down on the bench with a dejected sigh. Maybe Florana would-.. He turned to strike up conversation only to find she'd left already, noticing the Hufflepuff some distance away with Ioni in tow.

With an extended a hand, he watched as the pale skin in his palm absorbed a few heavy drops from above. Still no more than a light drizzle from the clouds, fortunate for them - he thought and sent another look towards the gate where the trio had disappeared from view. That damn thumping.. His attention was drawn back to the hand, and with a slow turn to reveal the back of it he frowned. The bruise was still there from before, anytime he even slightly moved his fingers there was discomfort. Just go to the nursery he'd been told by some of the other students. No. He knew that if he did, they'd start looking in to why, and if they looked in to why.. they'd find out-..

Rising to his feet, he immediately realized how much time had passed. Robes heavy from the amount of water they'd absorbed and skin ice-cold to the touch. Adrian headed for the doors to the School, hoping he could make it to his room this time before being accosted by some mean-spirited classmate to use as their punching bag. Both literally and figuratively.
