When I first got into this with luxiem, the connected lore of each wave is what really pulled me in. I basically thought more corporate, wave based vtubing was something like IRL fiction a la wrestling or an smp. Maybe there would be a group collab that led into a big lore video event, maybe cross wave collabs would be like crossover episodes that led into the entire branch narrative shift, etc. Kinda like what vox said earlier about it being like having a main character of a show stream games inbetween major episodes. I still think it can be like that. I see it in shades like Ike's Undertale stream, his Halloween stream, or that one Wilson stream where he teased stuff. I saw it with stuff like Xsoleil with the debut lore and cohesive kayfabe between all of their streams before you know what, and with how Luxnoc is basically a shared universe in the same meta timeline. Again, lambros are good at this since they actually see what I do.

But nooo, vtubing can't be like that since the media literacy is so low fandom wise that the bar is 6 feet under. Honestly, the general lore and story quality we get from most vtubers writing wise is lower than even the the most brain numbing seasonal slop anime or trash vn. It gets to be accepted as extraordinary when it's barely better than Isekai #1627. You know it's fucking dire when the 2 dogs are hailed as LE NEXT BIG PIONEERS IN VTUBING THAT ARE BREAKING NEW GROUND and they're regularly compared to fucking teletubbies.

I just think vtubing could be more than it is
