MY ADDRESS

Well! Hey everyone. This is my address in response to the events that unfolded earlier this week.

First things first, I'd like to say that yes, Romeo and I have talked and made up since then, and we both apologized for our faults. I admit that my aggressive behavior during the confrontation did indeed put pressure on him, and while it wasn't my intent in the slightest, I can understand why it'd come off as potentially manipulative behavior, even if really I was just tired and wanted to get this over with. This is something that I sorely regret and wish I went about differently. In fact, it would've been better if Joe and I never involved ourselves in the first place, and we have vowed to never involve ourselves in any community situation ever again unless of course it directly involves one of us. Case in point though, me and Romeo are on good terms now, so if anyone was concerned over that then there's your answer.

Moving on, I'd like now to talk more about the nuances of the situation itself. I'd like to make it clear that my apology is to Romeo for the way I treated him in our conversation, NOT to anyone who was hurt on his behalf and viciously attacked me and my friends over it. I still maintain the belief that the claims I made about Romeo's misuse of his platform were true, especially with the events that took place immediately afterward that led to Sobii being doxxed and harassed IRL. However, instead of being pessimistic about this, me and Romeo recently talked about ways in which he's able to use his platform for the benefit of others, and I believe that with proper guidance and reflection, he'll be able to do a lot of good with it and become an inspiring leader to his followers.

Now Romeo aside, I'd like to talk about the community response to this situation, which was quite appalling to say the least. I am VERY grateful for the community members who actually took the time to note and call out the faults of both sides of the conflict, as this was all evidently very gray as opposed to any blacks and whites like most were led to believe. Now I'm not going to call out anyone in particular as to not incite harassment, but you know who you are. It's clear that for the most part, we don't know how to have actually civilized discussions about topics like these anymore, opting to instead mindlessly attack anyone daring to criticize Romeo. Joe and Raven received harassment in minutes, with the latter being overwhelmed enough to delete her opinion off the platform. Devilish got chased off the platform. Sobii got doxxed and faced IRL harassment. And I even received a fair amount of harassment under posts that had nothing to do with the situation at hand: this is all behavior that I found to be very disturbing. Do you think that just because you wear "masks" online, you're able to act out however you please? That is all but an illusion of inconsequence. Just because you CAN do something, it doesn't mean you SHOULD. A lot of you can do better. Of course, I realize that many people are just like that by nature and it can't be changed, and while that's something I'm willing to accept, those with the capacity for good should realize it.

Anways that's it from me really. Even if I wasn't too affected by the harassment itself it's still something worth calling out. I will say though a few images/shitposts to come from the situation DID get a chuckle out of me, so that's something at least. For those concerned about the status of AWAKENING then it will still proceed as planned, though expect less teasers and updates on it than before. No matter what, this project is something that I cannot cancel, I consider it too important to me. So it's still being developed in the background, I just won't be too public about it. This project aside though, I've pretty much lost all interest on Sonic.exe after this whole mess. Again, I'm just continuing AWAKENING since to me, it's a lot more than just Sonic.exe. The only Sonic.exe projects that I will partake in moving forward aside from AWAKENING are those belonging to my close friends.
