You've been invited to a Saturday housecall by Kronii. You're a little nervous.
She lived in a high-class apartment, the type where every square meter could get you brand new car.
You knock on the door, a lump in your throat. When you got no answer you swallowed as you rung the door bell.
The door opens and you suffer the withering gaze of her mother, an absolutely beautiful but intimidating woman. She reminded you of those Korean idols you've heard so much about.
"Anon!" You hear a voice behind, the older woman steps aside, allowing a beaming Kronii to meet you. She was wearing sleeping pajamas.
You thank your lucky stars Kronii's dad wasn't here, according to her he was a real hardass while her mother was the sweet one.
Kronii pushes you hurriedly inside, it was a place of true opulence. You saw marble, glass and gold plating galore. The both of you sitting down on the fur carpet of the living room, watching the obscenely large TV.
"HENSHIN!" Kronii stood up, wearing her Saturday pajamas, pantomiming the colorfully armored warrior on T.V. You had known about her love for Kamen Rider but even this was a bit too much.
She couldn't hear the music or the voices like you did, dependent on subtitles to understand most of the dialogue. She'd occasionally ask you about the show, relying on you when she needed some more clarification for a particular scene.
Your anxieties are melting, even with her mother busily preparing lunch. You're getting into the show until the both of you started yelling and shouting.
"Lunch is ready." Kronii's mom calls out.
Kronii happily locks her arm around yours, pulling you forward and rushing to the long table.
A large plate of chicken tenders and potato wedges awaited you, you sit down. Watching quietly as both Kronii and her mother said grace. A bit taken back by the juxtaposition with your wealthy surroundings and this simple meal.
Kronii was eating away happily, while her mother just watched occasionally sneaking in a bite on a single piece of chicken here and there.
You felt so awkward you couldn't properly eat, Kronii herself noticed your hesitance. She ended up picking up some tenders with chopsticks and fed it to you.
You were blushing, embarrassed at Kronii doing something so intimate in front of her mother, but the older woman just smiled.
You tried to finish up the show after you were done eating, but Kronii started to get drowsy and ended up nodding to sleep on your shoulder. You had to carefully drop her on your lap.
"Looks like she's tired." You look up to meet Kronii's mother, her face crestfallen at the state of her daughter.
"Can you be a dear and help me bring her to the her bedroom." You nod, carefully lifting her up in your arms. She's a little heavy but you manage to follow her mother down the hallway, entering a room that was filled with posters and figures.
You tenderly lay her down on the large bed, tucking her in.
Your time here was over, Kronii's mom accompanying you to the door. You're about to leave when she stops you.
She has a sincere and happy smile on her face.
"Thank you, you're the first friend she's brought on over ever since the transfer." She says in a low and somewhat sad voice.
You can only nod sheepishly.
"It's fine, couldn't really turn down her offer since my parents find excuses to kick me out on Saturdays. I think I might become a regular." You're a bit surprised, a single tear rolls down her cheek. She wipes it away with a tender finger.
"I'm glad you are, please come around as much as you want." You just nod again, you don't know how to answer when heavy stuff happens.
True enough you did hang out a lot, so much that Kronii's mother treated you almost like a son.
In hindsight she must have been practicing early.
