"He's pretty shy, but that's fine as long as he doesn't stop running away from me too. Masu seems to like him, so maybe I should try acting like him. But then who's gonna do the talking? We'd just be staring while doing whatever Kamiko-sensei says, and you can't become friends like that. Maybe he could teach me how to sneak around like he does? Then I might be able to catch Masu off-guard!"

"She seems a little slow for a Jonin? I guess it's fine as long as she's strong. Anyway, her dog sure is fluffy! He must be super well-trained! I wonder what kind of tricks he can do?"

"He seems really smart, but also really sad. I guess dealing with bodies is probably rougher than dealing with sick people... Oh, I think I heard something about him having a condition, so that can't help. If it was me, don't think I'd care about the exam, but it's good he hasn't given up!"

"Some of the Jonin act a little weird about her, but I don't get it. Did she do something bad? Well, she seems to be friends with Lady Tsugumi, so it can't be that bad. Oh! I hear she's traveled a lot! That means she must know about lots of cool stuff!"

"It's totally unfair that he has to care about some stuff someone did in the past! I guess he seems pretty happy, but it's still dumb. And all the guilt stuff just seems...weird. Uh, it's really nice of him to eat peoples' sins, but I don't see why he should have to punish himself. Sis said that it's not that different from using my blood to help everyone and that I should learn from him, but I'm not sure. Do I have to feel guilty too? Does she?"

"Uh, she was saying a bunch of stuff about shadows and fate that I couldn't understand. She called my candy something like "sacred ichor"? She still ate them, so it must be a good thing! I am a little worried that she might get one of those jerks made at her because of all the weird stuff she says, but she says she's super strong so she should be fine."

Choko Yumiya

"She doesn't run away from me like Masu, but she seems even more sensitive than Sen. Maybe that's a thing for Shimo-nin? Was Lady Stugumi like that when she was younger? Anyway, I REALLY don't want her to cry if we end up fighting, so I'll try to end things quickly! It shouldn't be too different from putting my cousins to sleep when they're scared."

"Whoah! I've never seen a talking statue before! What does he do if he wants a new haircut? Can he eat? What happens if he starts to chip and crack? I guess he won't have to worry about any of that if he gets what he wants. I don't see the point in being immortal if your friends aren't, though. I'd be sad and bored and I'd probably wish I wasn't immortal anymore!"

"I wonder where he got a pair of Byakugan? There aren't exactly any pleasant ways to get a dojustu that isn't yours and I don't think he's a Hyūga. I guess they would've done something if he stole them, though. Maybe the relationship is just distant? Oh, it'd be cool if I had some cousins that weren't sent to the Valley! I'm not sure how I'd find them though... Anyway, I heard he hugged Choko, so he must be a nice guy."

"She keeps saying she's a guy, but she doesn't look like a guy to me. There's a whole bunch of weird jutsu I don't know, so I guess it could be true. But which side of the springs does she use then? I guess mixed means she doesn't have to choose."

"He's from the Hyūga's main branch, but he still doesn't like them? I don't get it fully, but I'm happy I don't have to deal with any weird clan stuff like him and Jin. He was WAY nicer than Jin when we talked, though. I'm not really sure what to do with this cigarette... I didn't want to say no to gift, but Granny wouldn't let me hear the end of it if I started smoking."
