Prefect, what Prefect?

A long yawn escaped Adrian. He and Cora were calmly walking down one of the hallways leading to the main stair. It was late too, long past what ought to have been bed-time for the students. Fortunately Addie knew the usual Prefect routines thanks to his nightly escapades and for the moment the pair went unnoticed.

They'd spent some time just outside the Castle walls, away from prying eyes where Adrian could practice riding a broom without on-lookers jeering at him for struggling. It predictably went rather poorly, but they'd shared a nice evening together all the same. Eventually foregoing the secret Quidditch training entirely in favour of just laying down to watch the moon-lit sky. Chatting about everything from heavier subjects like the curse which seemingly afflicted the Witch, and lighter ones such as where to go on their next date.

By the time they had returned inside both of them were rather cold, and so heading straight back to the Slytherin common room seemed to make the most sense.

".. So you always snuck around Hogwarts at night?" Cora curiously looked up at the boy next to her as they pressed on through a doorway and continued up to the main staircase which would later offer an easy route back to the 'dungeons' as some referred their home to.

"I mean.. not always, but I enjoyed the quiet. Just made it easier to think, y'know?" Cora nodded, lips parting to say something before the sound of people talking became evident. Two Prefects - one Ravenclaw and the other from Hufflepuff had also entered the large, open space where the main staircase could be found, although on a different floor. Unfortunately for the two Slytherins they were immediately spotted from above.

"Hey! Stop right there!"

Cora took Adrian's hand and pulled - a second later a chase was on. They sprinted off with the Prefects in tow, still a generous distance behind but they both knew outrunning them would be difficult. Especially if the noise allowed others to converge on their location.
"Addie, in here!" She called out in a throaty whisper. The Witch had stopped very suddenly, and before the taller Wizard had a chance to ask what she was doing Cora had opened a nearby wardrobe and pushed him inside. She followed immediately afterwards before they could be spotted by their pursuers.
Once the door had shut and they'd done their best to calm that laboured breathing.. They could hear the footsteps outside of the two Prefects rushing past down the hallway to find out where they'd gone.

The smaller of the two pushed up closely to Adrian, her voice somewhat muffled as she partly mumbled her words in to the fabric of his white shirt.
"Lets stay here for a while, until they stop looking." He swallowed before nodding his approval to that plan.

The inside of the wardrobe was pretty much completely empty Adrian noticed a short while later, but after spotting the numerous different doodles on the wooden interior he figured it was still actively used. Most likely so students could snog each other in peace.
The thought made his cheeks heat up, and it certainly didn't help in that regard that Cora was pushed up intimately close against him, leaving no more than the thin fabric of her top and his shirt to separate the young Wizard's broader chest from hers.

What was the harm - he thought. Then slowly coiled his arms around Cora's frame in a warm hug. She responded with a soft, approving hum. The added heat helping both of them regain some temperature after spending such a long time outside a little while ago.
Adrian could feel the caress of her breath up the side of his chin and neck. He swallowed again, and had it not been for an unexpected, strange noise from above the boy would've tilted his head down inside that cramped space to kiss her.

Instead he took her by the shoulders and gently pried her away, much to Cora's disapproval.
"Listen." He said, attempting to explain himself.
Nothing. No sound.
".. What? There's nothing Addie." Her hands moved up to grab him by the blonde locks of hair, gently 'forcing' the boy down again so they could resume.
Just as their lips were about to meet he heard it again. Like a low rustling to his side and slightly above his head. Much to his girlfriend's frustration Adrian pulled away yet again to look.

Cora eased back, about to scold him before she noticed his eyes staring at something in the dark corner of the wardrobe. Apparently someone else was hiding in there, too. Hiding, or spying. Whatever the case it startled them both when the small creature let out a little 'meep' and lunged forward. The two Slytherins hurriedly stumbled back out the door and down the hallway, half-laughing, half-panicked. It wasn't until they'd made it to the safety of the common room that they reflected on how ridiculous it was to let a rodent scare them away.

Some time later, My Appletrundle carefully walked out of the very same wardrobe. Looking distraught and confused. She waddled off to take shelter in the Room of Requirement. At least there no one would just unexpectedly barge in and make her watch as they snogged it out in front of her.
