Welcome to the NINJA ACADEMY!
You are taking on the role of a brand new ninja still trying to earn their headband. Train hard and strive alongside your classmates to find out what it truly means to be a shinobi, forging your own ninja way.
The Academy is located in The Hidden Moon Village, who've scouted ninja from all across the land, some who seek to investigate this mysterious rising nation.
MAIN RULES:
Create an Academy level D rank ninja in training! You can make a C+ Build, but they likely won't be participating in the academy. If you are considering a higher Rank build, we are in need of Jōnin Senseis once the academy students graduate and form squads.
Drawbacks such as Fated Rival, Inherited Rival, Unloved, Most Wanted, Unwanted Attraction and Jinchuuriki are now considered Narrative Drawbacks and are banned UNLESS you post a narrative writefag that introduces these concepts into the story and accept that these Drawbacks will be ACTIVELY detrimental for your character's foreseeable future. Other players must agree if you'd like to select them as your rival for the purposes of a Drawback. Break this rule and you will be considered a Powergaming FAG! // See below for expanded rules on Perks and Drawbacks.
There is a 2 Kekkei Genkai limit per character, not including KG evolutions, elemental KGs or subskill KGs (Ex: Rinnegan, Legendary Artifact, etc). Perfect Integration or the Chimera Technique allows you to completely bypass this rule. // See below for expanded rules on Kekkei Genkai.
Free Jutsu Purchases/Upgrades gained from Perks give you the first 2 or last 2 tiers respectively on the PDF version.
It's assumed that your skill level is normal for that of your rank for any of these unpurchased Basics: Unarmed Combat, Stealth, Subterfuge, Ninja Tools, Espionage, Clone, Transformation, Substitution, Utility Jutsus.
First Purchase of a Basic/Advanced/Hidden gives you an above average skill level of your Rank in that jutsu, Second gives you a REALLY above average skill level for your Rank, and 3rd means you're REAL good at it, same difference from 1st to 2nd.
You can be whatever age you want but the average ninja in the academy is about 12.
If you have any {element} technique, you can do other minor elemental jutsu. If you don't, you can't.
Special Skill and Weapon Arts may be purchased multiple times.
Living Weapons are banned, the item section is still in development so the rules on ninja tools are subject to change.
EXPANDED PERK/DRAWBACK RULES:
There will be a 20 point maximum from Drawbacks, until your character graduates from the academy.
Perks and Drawbacks can be retroactively added to characters as the story develops.
"Cosmetic" Perks like Attractive and Charming gives you 5 points, because no companions exist. Cool still only gives you 1 point.
Any Drawback not listed in the banlist does not require any specification not described in the description of said Drawback.
All Drawbacks are enabled, although a few Drawbacks have been slightly modified to fit into Multiplayer:
- Gender Bender can now only be taken retroactively after you've finalized your character's gender in character creation. Otherwise it remains the same.
- NSFW changes your character’s mind to becoming a depraved pervert prone to lewdness and will now have massive nosebleeds which leave your character unconscious when exposed to risqué elements of the opposite sex.
- Baby Shark changes your character to become intellectually stunted to the mind of a young child incapable of accepting reality. In other words your character will actually become autistic.
If any Perk requires a Drawback you will still gain the points but you cannot select Drawbacks that give additional Perks except for Ninja Cancer.
If you don't take any Drawbacks at character creation you can take the Cool Perk for free.
EXPANDED KEKKEI GENKAI RULES:
If any KG requires another one to be purchased, it is considered an evolution.
The Secret Power Perk allows you to gain one additional KG beyond the first two.
The Sharingan, Mangekyō Sharingan, Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and Tenseigan are now considered Narrative Kekkei Genkais due to the difficulty in the lore to unlock/obtain them. If you purchase or select through a Perk these dōjutsu without meeting the Narrative Requirements, the KG will instead be considered dormant. The Narrative Requirements for each dōjutsu is listed below.
- Sharingan: Initially awakened by experiencing a powerful and often traumatic emotional condition with regards to a person precious to them, their brain releases a special form of chakra that affects the optic nerves, transforming the eyes into Sharingan.
- Mangekyō Sharingan: Initially awakened by the trauma suffered from the grief of losing someone dear, usually related to their death. In rare cases it can be awakened by the fear of possibly losing the one you romantically love. With every use the user's vision will blur until they go blind.
- Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan: A Mangekyō Sharingan user's vision can be restored by transplanting the eyes of an Uchiha with strong blood ties, ideally a sibling, thus awakening the famed Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. The donor's eyes must also possess the Mangekyō Sharingan.
- Tenseigan: Awakened when a Byakugan user is implanted with the Byakugan of an Ōtsutsuki: this combination of the two clans' chakra transforms the Byakugan into the Tenseigan. This chakra combination can also be artificially spurred by ingesting a strand of Ōtsutsuki DNA (Horn, Flesh, Bone, etc).
This isn't exactly a banlist but more of an opportunity to showcase and introduce your unique power into the story by giving them more lore. However if you'd like to play a student and ignore these requirements, then these KGs will be considered a power you have potential for but don't currently have access to within the narrative.
