Passion Liberation
Ramona Wolf (CV: Minami Tanaka), Koyomi Senju (CV: Mariko Toribe)
No matter how much I try to look away
The gaze in the mirror keeps calling to me
It must be seeking to release
True feelings that you’ve locked up inside?
“Sometimes we have no choice but to sacrifice our desires to duty”
Does your passionate heart really believe that?
The world is colorless without passion
So I wanted to reach out to you from the bottom of my heart
Rather than accepting predestination
Let’s put faith in our chance encounter
So it becomes a key to open the door of our souls and make us take a step
Towards the light of countless stars
Ah, is my heart wrong
If it wishes us not to cross swords, but to empower each other?
I would want to see the one in the mirror spread its wings
And fly free like a butterfly
Your unconscious mind already knows the answer
If I dropped the facade, would the wings grow
On its back?
Only passion brings the world color
So desperate screams of our souls echo in our heartbeat
As we compete with each other
If we can recognize one another
Weʼll feel each otherʼs true intentions and the door should begin to open
I canʼt hold back
Iʼm so excited
Only passion makes the world colorful
And as Iʼm standing here, my heart overflows with feelings
Rather than accepting predestination
We’ve put faith in our chance encounter
Let’s make it the key to open the door of our souls and release them
Towards the light of countless stars
Believing
In each other
We head towards a distant future
Let’s be free
Let’s be free
Our hopes
Our desires
Overlap
Bringing forth our liberation
TL note
Koyomi’s lines in the second verse literally translate to What I want to see is a free being spreading its wings and fluttering. It’s hard to say whether she implies that she wants to be free herself or that she’s drawn to people who can allow themselves more freedom of expression as was hinted in FAIR IS FOUL, AND FOUL IS FAIR event story. So I went with the image of reflection she mentioned in the first verse which can be interpreted as both.
