Part 3: Panda and Sasuga
Chisa: Yah! Hah! Ta―!
Chisa: And now a backflip…
Kokona: Wow, thatʼs amazing… Sheʼs combining acrobatics with swordfighting…
Kathrina: Is Sirius even doing such plays?..
Panda: Sassu! The interviewerʼs here…
Panda: Huh? What on earth are you doing?
Chisa: Practicing for an acrobatic swordplay show Brave Knight William Tell…
Panda: William Tell was a great archer though. Anyway, finish up with your fictional show. Time to go get interviewed, let’s go.
Chisa: Alri-ight.
Kathrina: B-brave Knight William Tell?..
Kokona: It reminds me of Mecha Mac* a little. Fufu, looks kinda fun.
Shizuka: I don’t get what’s going on in Sasugaʼs head at all…
Kokona: But Sasuga-chan is really good at acting, swordplay, and singing… Now she and Panda are even getting an interview! Don’t you think that’s cool?
Shizuka: Kathrina also had an interview right after she joined Sirius. I recall, it was for the same magazine, Future Dai Star, right?
Kathrina: Yeah, right.
Kokona: Wasnʼt Yae-chan interviewed for it a while ago too? Everyone’s gotten an interview already…
Shizuka: We canʼt lose either! Let’s do a column at Future Dai Star someday.
Kokona: Fufu, youʼre ambitious. But yeah, let’s work hard and achieve that.
Panda: Yes, thatʼs true. Chisa-san is my childhood friend. Our families live close to each other, so weʼve been together since we were little.
Interviewer: I heard that you started performing around the same time. Did you want to join theatre together?
Panda: Well, not really, but itʼs not completely wrong either. When I was in elementary school, I saw Romeo and Juliet at a special theatrical showcase.
Chisa: Back then we’ve watched it together. Afterwards, I thought that if Panda was going to try acting, I would too.
Panda: Well, in truth a lot happened between that and us joining the troupe, but long story short thatʼs pretty much it.
Interviewer: Fufu, you two seem to be very close.
Panda: You could say it was a sort of fatal bond that brought us close… Now we go to the same school, are in the same troupe and even share the room in the dormitory.
Chisa: Wait, Panda, would you rather not be with me?
Panda: Thatʼs not what I’m trying to say. You get what I mean, right?
Chisa: Phew. Yup.
Interviewer: You really get along well. Now Iʼd like to ask a few questions about your private life.
Interviewer: Sasuga-san, may I ask how you spend your days off?
Chisa: Of course. On days off… Oh, right.
Chisa: Say, Panda, wanna go practice skating on our next day off?
Panda: Huh? Where did that come from?
Chisa: Iʼve just remembered I wanted to suggest that. So, how about it?
Panda: Yeah, sure. Donʼt forget weʼre in the middle of the interview, so let’s talk about that later…
Chisa: Right. So… On days off I practice skating with Panda.
Panda: That only concerns the next one…
Interviewer: Fufu, thatʼs fine. Then, on the next day off you two are planning to practice skating.
Interviewer: Now, Yanagiba-san…
TL note
* Mecha Macbeth versus Space Hamlet, a play mentioned in the first episode of the anime and, according to Kokona, very popular at the time she and Kathrina came to audition for Sirius.
