Being Sunny Milk is fine, actually

Anon had come to love his new life. Of course he had been very confused and terrified when he one beatiful spring day woke up as Sunny Milk. He had such a sour preconception of what fairies were like. They were nothing but weak idiotic magical pests and flying onaholes that perverse old men hunted for enjoyment in his mind. He had vague memories of ”video games”, ”touhou” and how he had killed thousands of fairies in those games. So he had felt very vulnerable and anxious when he had opened his eyes inside an unmistakeable treehouse next to the two other Three Fairies of Light. Anon didn't even need a mirror to know his body had changed, so tiny he had felt.

It didn't help that the two other had sensed that something was off. Luna and Star had teased him relentlessly for a while, thinking that Anon was pulling some kind of a prank on them. After Anon tried to flee the treehouse and just crashed down to the ground, not knowing how to use his wings, their attidute however changed. They apologized to Anon that they had tried to pin him down and tickle his feet and concluded that somehow, although they had never heard of such happening, Sunny must be sick!

Because fairies usually didn't get sick they had to seek outside help. Very quickly they realized that neither human nor youkai medicine would probably help, and they needed the very best. So the three headed toward Eirin's office. Luna and Star were probably very scared but put on a brave face, hauling Anon there by air, grumbling about how heavy he was all the time. If they only knew how heavy Anon had been before!

At first Eirin had been upset and told them to leave, thinking they were trying to pull off some kind of a prank. But Luna and Star had persistent in their begging and pestering, and eventually Eirin took a serious look at Anon. He didn't know what exactly caught Eirin's attention but he could see her expression changing. Eirin told the other two fairies two leave and ordered them to bring some rare, hard to reach herbs as a payment for her services.

Anon felt extremely nervous and self-conscious when Eirin took him to her office. He was so tiny and Eirin was so huge. She was so cool, calm, refined and beatiful. Eirin had Anon sit down on a small wooden stool, the kind you would normaly use for children. It felt so humiliating to be so short! Anon didn't know what Eirin was doing, but she had closed her eyes and hovered her hands over his body with her eyes closed. Anon thought of Eirin touching his body and felt a strange hot sensation spreading in his crotch.

Eventually Eirin stopped whatever she was doing. Althought she was very calm and collected her expression had changed a bit. Was that surprise or perhaps worry?
”I need you to get undressed”, Eirin stated plainly.
”E-e-eeh!?”, Anon stuttered out, embarrassed at how weak and cute he sounded.
”Please, it's necessary for me to confirm the diagnosis”, Eirin continued.

Anon's mind raced as he took off his dress. What on Earth was going on? Did Eirin have some ulterior motive? Was this going to be like one of those hentai doujins he was so fond of?

Eirin pulled a sheet off a large mirror that was in her office and instructed Anon to get in front of it. This was the first time he saw his body and he couldn't help but gawk at it. He couldn't be more than 130 centimeters tall, looking absolutely tiny next to Eirin who was much taller than many human men were.

Anon had seen many depictions of fairies and had expected to look somewhat childlike, but his new body was anything but, as small as it may be. He looked like a very fertile young woman with wide hips, thick thighs and breasts that were rather large compared to his body size. The blue eyes that stared back at him from the mirror were in stark contrast to the orange hair that adorned both his head and pubic area. The translucent wings on his back may have drooped weakly, but they added a finishing touch of unearthly beaty to his new form.

Anon felt his nipples hardening and the hot sensation in his crotch became hotter, wetter, his cheecks were cherry red...and suddenly it hit Anon. He was getting aroused at his own image! He let out a patheticaly cute yelp and shielded his crotch and breasts with his hand.

”Unbelievable”, Eirin uttered out, looking simultaneously preplexed and disaproving. ”I couldn't believe it first, but you're really not a fairy at all! You're a male human spirit stuck in a fairy body!”
”Y-y-yes...”, Anon blurted out, sounding absolutely pitiable. Tears of shame were starting to pool around his eyes.
”Who are you? How did you do this? Are you some kind of pervert magician?”, Eirin said, her voice dripping with loathing. Anon was so embarrassed he wished he could die.
”I'm nothing like that! I just woke up like this yesterday! Please help me!”, Anon begged, the tears of shame turning into open weeping.

Eirin sighed and took a good, stern look at Anon. ”No, I can't sense any residual human magic. How bizarre. I have never heard of this happening. I don't think there is anything I can do for you.”
”There must be something!”, Anon cried out ”I don't want to be a fairy!”
The disgust on Eirin's face has melted into what can only be pity. ”I will study your case, but at this moment the best bet is to hope that when the lifecycle of your...current body ends your spirit will be released...”
Anon remembered that he had read that faeries were short-lived but would be reborn very quickly after the moment of their death.
”My spirit will be released? Will I...die?”, he asked, disturbed at the prospect of having only a year of life left.
”I don't know. It seems unlikely that your human body can last a year without it's spirit...unless of course you somehow swapped places with Sunny's soul...maybe you will go in front of the Yama, maybe you will be condemned the haunt Gensokyo.”
All of these prospects terrified Anon deeply, and he left Eirin's office in tears. The idea of the harebrained Sunny being stuck in his body, ruining his life back home was maybe the most terrifying of them all.

The next couple of weeks were excruciating. Anon would just sleep and weep and the other two fairies would pester him nonstop, not believing that he really was a human. They would beg him to come pranking with them. Anon found feeling terrible not only for himself, but also for the other fairies. They seemed so genuinely sad, and it was heartbreaking when they would cry and say things like the Three Fairies of Light are nothing without Sunny.

Eventually something started changing. Anon started forgetting things. Ideas like ”soy”, ”chud”, ”wojak” and ”sigma” melted into nothingness. Whatever worries and concerns he had in his previous life no longer seemed to matter. He could no-longer remember what ”TikTok” or ”Reddit” was. ”Politics” was a memory absurdly long gone, as were concerns over having a ”job”. He had no idea what ”Grimsokyo” was anymore. Even ”SICP” had to go. The only aroma he found himself pondering was the scents of the blossoming nature around the treehouse.

One day Anon finally agreed to go with the other two when they had asked him. They said that some of the fairies had managed to steal a great quantity of alcohol and that there was going to a huge party. This would surely finally lift up Sunny's mood, they said. Anon started feeling apreciation towards the unrelenting care that Luna and Star had shown. Maybe fairies weren't that bad after all. Even if Anon felt terrible, perhaps he should try to make the other two feel better.

As Anon still couldn't use his wings Luna and Star had to haul him to the Misty Lake where the party was happening. Anon could tell that it was strenuous for the two, but they refrained from complaining too much. They had clearly wanted Anon to come and didn't want to make him feel like a burden. The party could be seen from a great distance as tens, if not hundreds of fairies were swarming by the lakeside.

In the center of it all were two unmistakeable figures, Cirno and Daiyousei. The ice fairy was looking extremely smug and proud of herself, standing next to several casks of alcohol and was apparently in the process of explaining how she had pulled off such a grand heist. Cirno noticed the three arriving and bolted off to greet them.

”Well if it isn't the Three Big Losers! What have you been doing all this year, I haven't heard of you three pulling any pranks at all. Why are you dragging Sunny around like that?” Her tone was smug but not hostile.
”Shut up! Sunny has been sick!”, Luna blurted out as the trio touched ground.
”Eh, what do you mean sick? Fairies don't get sick? Are you stupid?” Cirno's gaze radiated profound incomprehension.
”She thinks she's really a human”, Star replied.

At first Cirno didn't say anything, looking at the three in confusion. Then she burst out laughing.
”Ahahahaha! That's a good one! Well, maybe we should get you some medicine for you, Sunny?”
Anon sighed. ”Even Eirin couldn't help my condition, what do you think you can do?”
Cirno slapped Anon on his head. ”I mean the fine sake this daring and strong ice fairy pilfered! You big dummy!”
”O-oh”, Anon felt humiliated. He sure could use a drink. ”Yeah, I'd like some.”
”You can get it...but only if you say Cirno is the best and strongest.”
Anon sighed. ”Cirno is the best and strongest...”
”Say it like you mean!”
”Cirno is the best and strongest!” Anon felt flustered at how cute he sounded even when he tried to be loud and serious.

With that it was settled, and a big cup of sake was brought to Anon. He gulped it down. In his former life Anon had not cared much for this type of drink, but he found it most enjoyable now that he was in Sunny's body. The intoxication that followed felt much stronger and stranger than the drunkenness he was used to. A sparkly, tingling feeling permeated his body. Whatever worries he had in his little fairy skull seemed to vanish completely.

As Anon sat by the lakeside and watched the happily drunken faeries buzzing in the skies over him he felt a strong desire to join them And with that, almost without any effort his wings flapped into life and he rose to the skies. It was a most lovely sensation, he felt almost weightless and full of joy. Somehow Anon knew how to fly, and at this point it felt like he always had known. It was just like riding a bicycle after learning how to do it once and not having done for a long time.

”Sunny! You can fly again!”, Anon heard a voice behind him. It was Luna, and Star was trailing closely behind her. ”Cirno's medicine really worked!”, Star exlaimed. Some part of Anon knew that it was silly to think of the sake ”curing” him, but another part of him thought that of course it was good, proper medicine and Eirin was a big mean know-nothing.

Rest of the evening was full of great merriment, and when Anon woke up next morning he felt fresh and renewed. Apparently fairies didn't get a hangover from alcohol. What a blessed state of being to be in! Even though Anon still wasn't fully on board with the idea of being a fairy, he thought that why not make best use of the time he had.

Rest of the year passess with usual fairy fare. Anon pulls off various pranks with the other two Fairies of Light and spends a lot of time basking in sunlight and enjoying the beatiful, pristine nature of Gensokyo. Anon has never been happier in his life. Every day is a new adventure and the small world of Gensokyo feels so enormous. Sometimes he still has difficulties adjusting to the new life as Sunny. It takes time and effort to learn to use her powers to full extent again, and the three can pull their finest, most coordinated pranks only in the latter half of the year.

More confusingly Anon finds himself looking at the menfolk of Gensokyo in ways he hadn't before. He finds his eyes lingering on the bodies of farmers shirtless in the fields in summer heat and men cooling off in ponds. He feels intense jealousness when he eavesdrops lover's talk and even worse when he one day finds Star having sex with a human man in a bush near the treehouse!

Anon also finds himself feeling sad for the original Sunny who is now stuck in Anon's body. Now she has to think about ”job” and ”politics” and ”social norms” and ”laws”. She would have to understand ”SICP” and ”Reddit” and ”sigma” and learn to deal with hangovers. Would she even enjoy being in Anon's masculine, hairy body? Anon even had some fading memories of having a ”mother” and ”father” who would surely react terribly to their son now claiming to be a fairy! A long-forgotten horrible concept, ”mental hospital” briefly surfaced to Anon's mind. But soon enough these thoughts too fade.

Anon visits Eirin a few times, but she hasn't been able to come up with any ideas as how to change Anon's condition. On the last visit Eirin gives him a strange look and says very little. Anon doesn't even really want to go back anymore and he wonders if Eirin somehow knows it too. Has his spirit started to look like that of a fairy?

Soon enough the year is over and it's time for Anon's current lifecycle to end. He finds it all coming so soon, his little fairy brain barely able to comprehend the passing of time. He is very scared, but Luna and Star tell him that he is acting silly again. So he finds the dignity to face the inevitable with the kind of carefree attidute that the two have. They assure that it's only like going to sleep as they lay down together one last time on this cycle. And as he wakes up again in the spring it's as if he had only napped for a while, waking up next to his beloved companions.

By now whatever was left of Anon's former thoughts and memories is mostly gone. He knows he wasn't always a fairy and that he isn't originally from Gensokyo, but none of that matters anymore. His daily life is filled with carefree little adventures. Whatever burdens and inhibitions he used to have have dissolved completely.

It's now summer again. Anon sees a lone man bathing in a pond. He quietly descends into a nearby bush and disrobes himself. Using his magic powers of light manipulation he renders himself invisible and flies over the pond. This is one of his favorite pranks and he loves doing it every time as much as the first first time he did it.

The man in the pond can hear the buzzing of his wings and an alarmed look washes over his face. He's trying to discern what is aproaching him.
”Hey mister, what are you doing there, all alone, naked in that pond?” Anon says, mustering the most lusty tone he can.
The man looks first perplexed, then astonished as Anon unveils himself and starts descending closer and closer to the man.
”Silly human, don't look so shocked. Let's play...” Anon says as he glides ever closer to the man, finally dipping to the pond, reaching out for him, kissing him...

Anon has some vague memory of once having something like a ”computer” and reading a ”doujin” where something like this happened. He thinks he may have once imagined himself as the man. He thinks once upon a time he would have had ”gay” sex only with ”another virgin” in a ”Touhou cosplay” but none of that matters now in this moment.

Anon had come to love his new life.

Being Sunny Milk is fine, actually.
