Underwater:
Atlantean architecture consists of simple square buildings for residential purposes and more ornate temples for worship. Buildings in Atlantis are made of a special fast-growing self-maintaining coral. Construction starts by creating a frame of the building out of rock, then coral polyps are placed throughout the frame, and after some time the coral grows to cover the frame entirely, creating a building. Coral is used instead of other material like rock because it won't erode the way rocks will and protects against waves and currents. The self-maintaining properties of the coral allow it to fix any damage by itself without the need for construction teams. However, the coral is at risk of dying if water conditions decline or predators attack. If the coral dies and isn't reinforced with new coral, the building will grow weaker and possibly collapse. The most important jobs in the city are to monitor water quality and protect the coral (and the city) from attack.
