  • Jeff.
  • When it comes to the rumor of Week 8 being GF's brother made in a test tube, Dave dodges. Saying Week 8 info will be revealed when it is time.
  • There will be multiple playable characters, with Jeff going on to say that there's a "grand tapestry."
  • If it is possible, Miku will be in the game.
  • If possible, xXsquidwardXx will make a contribution to the game.
"late night SECRET FNF WORK dont tell anyone not even ur parents"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j39RuEBBtss
  • The reason for the delay was due to bugs, more specifically, to the new way that assets are rendered in the game. Due to this delay, he is working on a new rank animation for Pico, who will be playable very soon.
  • When the game is done, FNF will be on other platforms.
  • Ritz is no longer planned to be a playable character.
  • Adding onto this, Dave says when the update comes, you'll see how much work is necessary for a playable character, and the reason why this decision was made.
  • The animation that was shown at the end of the teaser/delay announcement is NOT being replaced for the one being worked on.
  • WORMBOY has worked on future content for the game.
  • Dave has talked to PuffballsUnited, multiple times.
  • When it comes to modders helping out the game, if it were to happen, it will never be for the main stuff. Things like such promotional art, videos, teasers, and UI would be what they are given.
"Yeah buddy you heard right. We're playin some MODS."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFs_xrnFVeY
  • Dave finally fulfills his promise and plays the following mods:

    Turnabout: An Ace Attorney mod.
Kero: A mod that is a tribute to Flipnote Hatena.
Killshot: A one-off mod that is a 1v1 between Pico and Boyfriend.
Super Mario Bros: Funk Mix Deluxe: A mod that has Boyfriend go on an adventure with Mario & Luigi that also is a tribute to the franchise, the original NES game, it's remake for the GBC, and more.
Twinsomnia: A mod that has Boyfriend (officially) encounter the OC's: Boy and Girl.
Dead Air: A mod with a.. unique style of music featuring various internet horrors.
Funkin' Peanuts: A mod that is a tribute to the Peanuts franchise.
Vs Whitty: You should know this one.

  • Dave takes brief break to checkout some art on Newgrounds. He resumes to play:

Lovewrec'd: A mod that features Nene go up against both Boyfriend and Girlfriend.

    And finally:

    Sonic Legacy: An EXE mod.

  • After that: Dave doodles a couple of random things and tries to wrap up the comic from the last stream.
  • Dave says he has talked to Edmund McMillen.
"FNF drawin while watchin Evo. Straight Chillin"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0aEx_z_QEY
  • Dave is working on an options menu background as the current one is very bare bones.
  • The goal for the roadmap is to be released by the end of July. There will be no release dates listed.
  • While the next update was originally going to be another Pit-Stop, The Funkin' Crew decided that they wanted to include what was planned for it in the next Destination update. After a few good points were made, Dave eventually agreed, making the next update to be the first Destination update.
  • Destination 1 is NOT Week 8.
  • Cassandra is once again confirmed to appear in the game.
  • At some point, Dave wants to have a stream where he just checks out mods.
  • Blazin' (and the idea of having a purely instrumental song, Pico and Darnell fighting) was always planned for WeekEnd 1.
  • Losing sprites for unplayable characters are something that Dave wants to have in the full game.
  • There is a fat chunk of the game that has already been done behind the scenes, i.e while programmers get certain things implemented into the game itself, artists are doing assets for future levels. That way, things for the game are still being done on all sides.
  • When it comes to releasing updates, Dave and The Crew look at certain things in said chunks and decide on which things would make the most sense to be polished and released in future updates.
  • However, the person who asked him about this was referring to losing icons for characters who don't have one (DD, DD + MM, Senpai, Spirit). They will receive ones some point in the future.
  • The game will have more raunchy stuff as it goes on, but it will mostly always be done for laughs. Nothing really explicit is ever planned for the game as Dave predicts if that were to ever happen, most would just say that it's too much or just sucks.
  • Nene is going to be with Pico in all WeekEnd levels, whether it be to cheer him while on A-Bot or to team up.
  • "Will there be a GF figure?"
  • FNF will always be open source, no matter what.
  • When it comes to fixing up the level chronology, at this point, Dave would rather just make ".5" levels in the F.A.G, as there is too much documentation as certain levels being known as certain week names(ex: Pico being Week 3 despite chronologically being Week 2).
  • Week 8 is an OC.
  • Dave says that the Week 8 songs are very good, but are a bit unusual.
  • Dave says the Week 9 songs are very good, along with the future WeekEnd songs. Although, Dave hopes that people like Week 8 more than 9.
  • Both Week 9 and 10 song wise are wrapped up.
  • One of the Week 9 songs is called "Homicide". And no, it's not for Hank.
  • Saruky was chosen as Dave is a big fan of their work.
  • Both him and Saster have worked on future remixes, which will be released in the future.
  • Krinkles and Dave have talked multiple times, not just for Hank's inclusion, but also in terms of how Madness levels will play out in Funkin'.
  • The puddles that were in Weekend 1 at launch were cut due to performance issues on others, but if/once they are solved, they will be re-added.
  • WeekEnd 1 is NOT "fully implemented".
  • If the chance is given, Dave would love to work with Toby Fox for a song or two.
  • There will be plenty of more swears in Funkin'.
  • There will be more advanced mechanics in the game, WeekEnd 1 isn't even close to what the game's full plans are when it comes to fights.
  • Dave takes a break to play Hotline 024.
  • Dave starts to sketch out a comic that he had wanted to do for a while.
  • After an ongoing donation debacle, at the request of $300, Dave plays Bopcity.
"Cleanin up some shish, Pico shish... errrrmmm... yeeeaaaa"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRqv2MxAAik
  • Dave is working on a Pico animation for the game, specifically, one referencing the dance from the Tank Awards 2010.
  • "Will we ever get to hear BF speak again like in the Fresh remix?"
  • Monster ERECT remixes are real and will be added.
  • In response to the question of "Will there be non-newgrounds guests in the game?", Dave says that while FNF is known to the public as "the newgrounds game", there will be more original characters than guests when the game is finished. As for an answer to the question itself, he just gives a blatant "I don't know", as while he's not against the idea, he's not too sure about it either. Only time will tell.
  • Otis (Pico's fanmade cousin) does exist in the Funkin' universe.
"FNF PIT STOP - ASSET REVIEW + other goodies & garbage"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcl09zssz2E
  • In response to the question, "What happens if Nene tries to take care of BF/GF herself?", Dave says he can't reveal that just yet. Do with this what you will.
  • When asked if other characters (like Senpai) can get merch, the idea of a Senpai Dakimakura is brought up.
  • Tutorial is getting an ERECT remix.
  • The perfect result screen will get a different animation once naughtiness mode is implemented.
  • WeekEnds will now be Pico only.
  • Other NG guests and original characters will get their time to time to shine in the future.
  • Hank is still planned to be in the game, and has had progress made on his week.
  • Currently, there are plans for cutscenes to be added to the old weeks, but they will be more than likely be added when the game officially comes out and not in any updates.
  • That being said, the devs will try to put it as much as they can in the demo before they transition to F.A.G development.
"Heh heh... late night FNF comiks anyone?"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSRmhaZCLVA
  • The next WeekEnd's opponent is "pretty obvious"
  • Old versions of ERECT remixes may be playable in the future, potentially as unlockables.
  • There will be at least one more destination update this year.
  • A roadmap for updates is in the works, it is unknown if it will have dates.
  • Pico will make appearances in future WeekEnd levels.
  • Dave reiterates that the stalker designs that were found/turned into mods are no longer being used. However, the concept of a stalker character has not been scrapped.
"Will I ever make a comic at normal humane hours? FNF COMIC STREAM"
https://youtu.be/fufBYFG2Zds
  • Despite the focus on Pico recently, BF & GF will get the most screen time when everything is said and done.
  • The comic being worked on is not a prequel for anything, it is set after WeekEnd 1.
  • Pit-Stop 1 is soon.
  • Progress on said update is going well.
"FNF comic work at Productive Member of Society Hours (1am)"
https://youtu.be/245TQyrmPZs
  • Every comic is loosely canon.
  • More comics will be made if Dave is able to.
  • The planned Week 4 lamp-post mechanic has been left out "for a reason", more will be said why in the future.
  • When it comes to Consistency, Dave tries to keep it just enough for him to "not hold back".
  • Ivan's samples for Darnell will be released soon.
  • Pit-Stop 1 will NOT be released on Pico Day.
  • Pit-Stop 1 will contain 2 erects and few more things.
"WeekEnd1 Asset Review"
https://youtu.be/wRwUMqRuHfw
  • Dave said that freeplay menu will evolve as time goes on
  • Dave wants FNF to crossover with the modding community, while retaining its core identity
  • The story menu will be updated later
  • Stems for new songs very likely releasing soon
  • Note combo graphic will be added in a "pitstop" update, but redrawn
  • Jeff will come back to do more stuff for the game
  • Nene's heart animation was meant to be used for reaching combo milestones, will be added later
  • Accessibility features will be added soon, including note lane opacity and changing Blazin's assets for notes to be more readable
  • Future weeks will probably not include cutscenes
  • Dave said that only future will tell in response to CG still being in the game, also saying that he thinks modders did a good job with her and is not sure how she can fit in the new vision for the game
  • Dave confirmed more large content updates before the FAG release
  • Playable characters were originally reskins, the plans are confirmed to be changed for them
  • The full ass game will not be steam exclusive
  • According to Dave, a little over 60% of base game is finished, only keeping art and music assets in mind
"FNF Late Night Wurk, VERY Trace-able Drawings! Bawhahahar ^ ^"

  • Dave is drawing BF on speakers, currently not known for what is it for.
  • Dave stated that the person that was picked up from the modding community was a great pick.
  • Dave said that the one thing many musicians don't keep in mind is how the song should feel like specific to the character.
  • Dave said that a lot of the stuff that doesn't get used for the game will probably be things that will end up in the artbook, he additionally said that he does his work more properly rather than doing everything under the same FLA.
"FNF misc work: Vitamin D Deficiency Hours Stream"
https://youtu.be/ENEbMlbG43o
  • Dave is drawing "special" FNF art related to the game.
  • Dave's thoughts on ghost tapping are regressing after playing DDR.
  • Dave states that programming is taking the longest time of development, since he has a lot of assets waiting to be implemented into the game.
"Wat da Funk this boi up 2"
https://youtu.be/D4FK5JfntJk
  • Dave is drawing animated icons for DD and MM but hasn't specified what they are exactly for.
Later in the stream, he draws an icon for Pico, Skid and Pump, Senpai, Tankman, Monster, Spirit and Darnell.
  • Dave reiterates that Funkin' will be around the ~$20 price range when the FAG releases.
  • The Kickstarter Portal made by Shingi was mostly created due to Kickstarter not having the infastructure/not caring enough to create surveys for the merch.
  • Dave reiterates that the blog is for the team's thoughts and documentation on developing Funkin', not necessarily for sharing game assests.
  • Dave knows what he wants Funkin' to be, but states that some of the choices made in Funkin' later down the line are inspired by mods and fan creations.
  • Dave had the idea for ERECTS before B-Sides.
  • Dave believes that Funkin' is not sinking into feature creep. He believes that the idea that the team wants to put in the game are realistic and reasonable. If anything, he believes that the only thing holding the team back is trying to understand how companies operate and trying to get it to all run smoothly.
  • Dave doesn't know anything about community drama because he doesn't pay any attention to it, but he also wishes that people were just nicer to each other.
  • The next update will apparently reveal where BF lives canonically in the Funkin' universe, but not explicitly (among the lines of a blink and you'll miss it type of easter egg).
  • Dave states that when compared to back then when the update was supposed to release, the update is not "super different", but it is larger.
  • Dave thinks that none of the 2020-2021 sprites have aged well, but he's going to fight the urge to re-do them for now.
He also states that after the update comes out, he'll re-examine them, but whether or not he'll ever potentially re-do the sprites is up in the air.
  • The skin color of demons works like how it does in real life, and that they don't get to choose it.
  • Dave states that if he ever made a Friday Night Funkin' movie, it would be about Boyfriend getting his foreskin back.
  • Dave shows "Panty and Stocking" to the art team to direct them on how to draw Funkin'.
  • Pico, Nene, and Darnell were sent to confirm Boyfriend's death during Week 7.
Dave still plans on finishing the comic for this.
  • Dave stated that he'll change his profile picture on Twitter when the update is about to come out as a little "hint" towards its release.
  • Dave states that he eventually wants Funkin' to end, and for him to move on from it when all is said and done, meaning no sequels, etc.
  • Dave reiterates that Monster having a lemon head was just a thing that happened and wasn't mean to reference anything.
"FNF work baybay, live from Toronto"
https://youtu.be/IjTUNa_ZkUY
  • KawaiSprite made a song specifically for the Kickstarter trailer, but PA rejected it and used Klaskii Romper instead
  • Some of Kawai's original music is getting reused in Funkin', spefically for places where PA doesn't feel like waiting for new music. At least one known instance is the re-use of the instrumental for "GAY" by Kawai for an unspecific area (potentially a cutscene). GAY also might get a small extended version for Funkin'
  • PA has a "plan" for announcing the new release date for the Darnell update
  • PA wants the story of Funkin' to be riveting to "some degree"
  • Barring any unreleased animations, PA's favorite poses and sprites are Tankman's "Heh, pretty good!" and the Week 7 game over screen with BF and GF
  • Funkin' is planned to have reocurring musical motifs
  • The open source license on what is and isn't allowed to be sold commercially will be much more explicit and clear
  • There is a "logic" to how BF, GF and Pico sound outside of gameplay
  • The animation of Pico shooting the cardboard cut-outs is not an in-game sprite
  • Dave Strider was originally envisioned for Funkin', but is no longer considered due to the vision of the game changing
  • The first thing PA did when coming to Canada was draw BF and GF fucking
  • Funkin' is all but guaranteed to get an M-rating, mostly due to Tankman saying "cunt"

  • The team goes by the "feels right" option for things that are included in the update/FAG
    Starting from 1:08:51
  • Character sprites will not undergo redraws, but not ruled out, as it may possibly be done post-release
    Starting from 1:18:29

  • The BF nendoroid is pre-order only
    Starting from 1:39:33
