Dungeon Renovation ch9-1: It's Gotten Big! (Part 1)
p1
I'm not a hugging pillow, y'know~?
She's got surprisingly bad posture, huh.
I never realized it since we slept in separate beds back in the dungeon.
Fiona-sama, Majo-sama. Breakfast is ready.
p2
Woah~! It's like I'm in a hotel!
Last night's dinner was luxurious too. That's a noble family for you.
This time is just an exception.
We're usually more frugal.
Wine is expensive too, so we only serve it on special occassions.
That so?
There's plenty of wine in home center's alcohol aisle.
I should've brought a few bottles with me.
p3
Oh right, Maho. Do you have any of those?
That may-o-nays or soi sawss.
Mayonnaise?
I have some in my bag.
I see you're palate's become more modern too, Fiona.
We don't have seasonings like this over here.
I don't think I can go back to the old taste anymore.
Their seasonings are pretty simple.
Like salt or pepper...
Yummy.
Wine and seasonings...
I might be able to do something with those.
p5
Well then, thanks for looking after me!
I'm gonna head back to the dungeon for now and come up with a plan.
I'll be going with her.
Okay. Be careful out there.
You're coming too, Fiona? You just got back home...
Are you sure?
Of course I am. We're doing this for the Dahma family, after all.
But is it really going to be okay?
As I've mentioned, that dungeon is pretty much finished.
You've already used the treasure on the bottom floor, right?
We should give up and flee...
Father.
p6
Please believe in Maho.
She knows things we don't and has tools that work like magic.
I believe she can help us.
Those are some high expectations.
Well, just leave it to me!
Could you help out too, Daddi-o? I don't really any influence here.
Hmm... If you insist...
p7
...I'll be counting on you.
Sorry for making you hold my equipment.
It's fine. That's what the bag's for, right?
So it's about a 1-2 hour walk from town, huh.
The road's in good order, so maybe we could make some carts or a supply point.
We've got infinite resources, after all.
Already thinking up a storm, I see.
By the way, are there many towns that make a profit from their dungeons?
Of course.
p8
The most famous ones are Mathers in the north and Marigen in the west.
The towns expand around the dungeon with an economy based around the adventurers and merchants who do business with them.
Adventurers earn a living by cashing in magic crystals, I guess?
That's right. There are some who use monster materials and treasure items for themselves,
but magic crystals need to be exchanged for money at the managed establishments.
p9
F'real? I've just been holding onto them this whole time.
Don't play with them.
You're a special case, Maho, so don't worry about it.
Those magic crystals are then sold off to the country at an even higher price
and the establishments profit from the difference.Profit
To the country?
Yes. To keep them from flowing into other countries.
Magic crystals are a source of power and are said to be used as catylysts for great magic.
p10
Hmm. Then wouldn't they just use laws and stuff to force them to join an administration bereau?
They wouldn't do something that violent...
But dungeons mustn't be left alone.
Because they become hideouts for bandits and the like?
No. If the evil inside builds up and overflows, the monsters will spill out of the dungeon.
It'll be a huge calamity if that happens.
Eh!?
It takes decades for something like that to happen, so we're still good for now.
p11
Dungeons sure sound like a pain, huh.
The rewards are great if you can use them right, though...
Ah, that reminds me!
What's up?
If this place were entrusted to the country, there'd be an administrator stationed at the first floor teleportation monument.
That's cos they need a gatekeeper, right?
Adventurer: AAAA
Sex: Male Warrior
Rank: 4 Level: 5
Status: Falling behind on rent
...I'll pay it next month. The reason is different.
It's so they can record in detail which teleportation monuments adventurers have validated.
p12
I was sent flying to the 95th floor, and you...
Ah, that's right! I did a full combo!
There's never been anyone like us before, so if that were to become known...
Uheh~ Yet another reason not to entrust it.
Floor 95
You could've just jumped to floor 101 with me, Fiona.
I've tried several times... I'll try again once we're...
!
p13
...Maho, get behind me.
Eh?
A sound is approaching...
...Something's
there...!
p14
HEY,
MAS-
TER~!!
Something big and fluffy emerges from the dungeon...?
