Lark is the newest addition to the Zerrikanian Royal Guard, or he was supposed to be at least. An unfortunate member of the original Order of Witchers, he was too young to remember much of those times. Hi life after that was a series of unexpected cicumstances, he was dragged around by Arnaghar's men when he split the Order once, then again by Ivar's men when they ran away, and lastly, now slightly more mature, he decided to follow Iwan when he separated from the Evil Eye.

He didn't know much about what was really happening, he was considered a great asset because of how well he took to the trial of the grasses, despite the unusual side effects, so all the splinets tried to bring him to their side. The result was a very nomadic life bouncing from one master to the other and being almost unable to learn a proper style, however Lark is a very adaptable young man so he adapt he did. Something inside him said that this was wrong, that something was missing, just at the edge of his perception, but everyone just told him that it was a side effect of the trial of Dreams and that it will probably go away in time.

The first splinter told him that a witcher is to be alone, an individual above all, strong enough to survive by himself. The second splinter told him that not only monsters need to be hunted, sometimes humans need to be put down too, and in the future something much worse will come and they needed to be prepared. The third splinter didn't really have much to say, but after seeing the older kids being forced to kill the dogs they were given a couple months before he just decided it was time to go. The desert was an unforgiving place, but work was plenty and part of his training considted in helping the caravans the older ones escorted, it was here that Lark first started asking himself some questions.

Why did they have to leave the first time? What happened to the other groups and those left behind? Why where they limited to using swords? Most of those recieved vague answers, the kind that only made him want to ask more, but training came first so he didn't have many chances to be heard. Lark also started being interested in the stranger things in life, some caravans carried strange rocks, runes they called them, his fellow witchers treated them as useful tools but he saw them differently, there was something more to them, the spoke to him, so he decided to listen. He didn't have much time to experiment, but he slowly ammassed a good amount of knowledge between the training and the missions.

Soon it was time for the trial of the mountains, it had to be changed somewhat compared to the old days but the key parts of it remained, survive. Lark managed to complete the trial by reliying on the help of his peers, there was a strange sense of camraderie there, they did go through a lot toghether and they didn't want to die, so they cooperated. This may have been somewhat counterproductive for Lark, he never really learned survival beyond the basics and some events in the future will make sure he doesn't feel the need to leaving him lacking in that field. Not long after that, the old guard saved the royals of Zerrikania, and a proper school was formed, named after the beasts that the witchers slayed.

Life in the new school was more stable, less random missions and more regulated training, also more free time which meant more self study and random questions. One of the royal mages took interest in the curios teen, and decided to allow him to test for magic as an example, he was very surpried to find he had potential. Of all the things the mage tested him on Lark showed patricular promise in the earth element and Enchanting, in particular he was good at manipulating metal, something the teen was very happy about as now he could experiment with runes even easier. The training alternated between magic and witcher things, it was natural however that the magic would change the young man's priorities, his interest in the witcher signs was the bare minimum to make them work, and his fighting style started integrating magic.

The older witchers were conflicted on it, some wanted to make sure he followed tradition, because that style is proven to work. Others were of the opinion that his circumnstances were unique enough to not be applicable, in a way he was what they failed to be so he should take advantage of that. Lark on his part started caring increasingly less about the opinions of others, up until now that didn't really do him any good, and now he had a real chance to take some decisions for himself. That freedom however was bound to be shortilved if the royals had anything to say about it, being a royal guard was supposed to be an honor, a reward for his hard work, but it was also going to add even more restrictions. So Lark decided to run away, not officially, that would be too dangerous, but he would find a way to get as far as he could, he would think of the rest later.

The trial of the sword was easy, he didn't want to stand out and the old witchers managed to convince the royals that his fighting style was too unorthodox and needed to be tested. After graduation Lark made sure to volunteer for every dangerous mission that required traveling far away, and after enough time he was allowed more freedom instead of being a royal guard. He took the first chance he could and escaped to the Northlands. Now his goal is to find out what really happened to the order, just to find some closure, maybe that will help him fugure out what to do with his life.

Lark fights with a combination of his personaly crafted knives and swords and earth magic, the mutagens accumulated from his time as a royal guard give him good mobility and survivablity. His manticore form comes out in emergencies, or when he feels that the opponent is going to be too much for his human form. Tends to study his targets to make personalized weapons as countermeasures. One of his favourite tricks is the use of cursed weapons that unleash the curse un contact, since he doesn't need to touch his weapons.
