Shu Jinkō, a transfer student from the countryside who instantly stood out for being stupidly handsome, super charismatic, and always throwing himself into crazy heroic stunts. Straightforward and honest to a fault, he can’t lie and is dead set on helping everyone around him. His fortune is bizarre and out-of-this-world as if everything bends to make things happen for him, good or bad. Somehow ended up as student council president and actually takes it seriously.
For all the brightness he carries around, Shu’s life outside the classroom is strikingly bare. He rents a half-collapsed apartment in Kageoka’s forbidden district. It’s haunted and Shu never denies it. He says it helps him sleep. Whatever shares the room with him is, in his words, “easier to live with than the other thing.” No one knows what the other thing is. He never elaborates, and people stop asking once they see the look in his eyes when he says it.
He came from the countryside with almost nothing. When asked how he affords tuition at Higan Academy, he just laughs and changes the subject.
Shu never took an entrance exam. There’s no record of a transfer interview, no verified recommendation letter. His student file exists, but only barely: the ink density doesn’t match across the pages, the seal impressions are a fraction off-center, and the signatures repeat patterns too perfect for a human hand. Most people would never notice. Someone trained in spotting forgeries would. Whoever built that file wanted him at Higan.
Shu doesn’t act like someone carrying a secret; he acts like someone who genuinely doesn't seem to have one. He shows no panic when bureaucrats mention paperwork or when faculty talk about audits.
