Kronii exists outside of time
This means she can see the past, present, and future, which is how she can skip or rewind time at will
She knows that you, her spouse, will die. But she's shut her eyes to her future, because she can't bear to know how or when it will happen
She extends your relationship, over and over again, using time slow, but she can't avoid this result
You've lived a fulfilling life with your hot wife and are ready to move on
But she isn't. She's been alone all her life, 'till you came along
She can't imagine a life where you're not there for her. She's been dreading it her entire existence, doing everything in her power to keep you around
She was crushed by her loneliness in the past, and the worst part is that as an abstract lifeform, she couldn't even die
Kronii honestly believed she would be cursed to be alone forever, unable to die, unable to find a mate, and always watching humans and her fellow council members falling in love and living happy lives
And that's why you're everything to her. You proved her wrong, you proved to her that she can be loved, and that she WILL be loved, a person with value
You're the one who taught her to walk among humanity, to step down from the heavens and learn what it's like to live a limited existence, even if it's just slightly. You made her appreciate herself and humanity, but you couldn't make her appreciate just how ephemeral things feel to her, who lives on for eternity
But not even Time itself can cheat death. It can delay it, sure, but nothing she can ever do will prevent you, a mortal human, from slipping from her grasp
She feels pathetic; a being that has been alive for eons, longer than the Universe, unable to protect something so fragile such as the life of the human that she loves
Kronii constantly rewinds time to be with you, over and over again
This effectively amounts to a personality reset. The person you used to be, the one that holds the memories of everything you've done with Kronii, is dead
She can't accept this. She initially resets just your body for the first hundred times, but out of desperation she starts to reset the entire universe, unable to move on
Your objective is to convince her to let it go and release the universe from an endless loop that has been occurring for hundreds of years, ending exactly at the date of your death
You finally manage to demonstrate how nothing is being allowed to move forward, and that since your memories and experiences make you who you are, she'll never have her spouse back. Not the same one who died, anyway. She's not reviving you, just rewinding the VHS
Rewatching the best moments of your life, over, and over again, a show only she can experience, at the expense of everything else in the world
They just keep getting worse, because she can't tap into the same enthusiasm, passion and love that she had the first time around, maybe not even the first hundred times
She needs to be able to create new memories, but it doesn't mean she has to tape over the old ones
Finally allowing you to die for good, she cries on your chest for a good hour
But she'll never forget you. She won't forget the times you were there for her, the times she teased you, the times where you cuddled and kissed together
She won't forget a single line of your relationship, not one day. Not a movie watched, not a park visited, not even the tough times, when you or her felt desperate and out of options, and you had to comfort each other
Ouro Kronii will always remember when she was married to you
Even after the Earth has been swallowed by the Sun, and the Sun's light has extinguished
She will carry on your memory to the heat death of the Universe, and it is in that way you will live on forever.
And even though time will resume and keep carrying forward, and Kronii will take care of humanity in your name, she'll never pursue another mortal relationship. Not again. Even in death, you'll forever be the one destined for her.
