Slowdown Issue with FX505GT Laptops

Even when set on turbo mode in armory crate.
The power limits are set to 5 and CPU gets Power throttled to 0.8GHz under any sustained load

Symptoms

  • CPU Usage drops to 33% and gets stuck
  • CPU Frequency drops to 0.79GHz and gets stuck

Quick Fix 1

  1. Press start menu button and type msconfig then enter
  2. Go to services and check hide all Microsoft services.
  3. Disable the following services shown, Uncheck these services and click apply and ok. Then restart the laptop.

Armoury crate and My asus wont work after following the above mentioned procedure.
To revert back you just need to enable all those services and restart the laptop.


Quick fix 2

  1. Download ThrottleStop and extract it to C:2. Run ThrottleStop.exe
  2. Click on TPL underneath Limits
  3. Uncheck Clamp and set Power limits to 45 and 55 then save (35 and 45 if your laptop overheat)
  4. Click Save in ThrottleStop Window
  5. To make ThrottleStop start minimized Check this
  6. a. you will need to make ThrottleStop start automatically when laptop boot up. google it or follow this guide.
    b. Alternately; if you extracted ThrottleStop to C: and make sure it's at this directory C:\ThrottleStop\ThrottleStop.exe
    you can use this registry file. It adds the following key to registry
