Help! I am stuck because of a game breaking bug and I am on Honour Mode!
How do I revert back to the last, hopefully safe save file?

Temporary Solution for PC users:
To revert to your previous save (hopefully its a safe one, avoid quick saving)
Step 1: Type “Windows Powershell” into your search bar.

Step 2: Open “Windows Powershell”.
Step 3: Copy the following text into the window: taskkill /f /im bg3_dx11.exe
Step 4: This will crash your game and revert it to the last, hopefully safe save.

Temporary Solution for PS5 users:
Step 1: Hold down the “Home” button.
Step 2: Close the game from the”Home” screen.
Step 3: This will crash your game and revert it to the last, hopefully safe save.
This will only work in Honour Mode. Please do not abuse it, you will just ruin your experience.

If a potential fix/workaround exists for a bug, it will be mentioned next to the bug listing.

Known bugs/issues:

Character Related (Companions, Player Character)
1.1.: Minthara does not follow you into Act 1 areas (was this not a 6.0 feature?).

1.2.: New “smooch” animations are not available to those with “old” saves from before 6.0. They also seem absent in some new, 6.0 saves. Some players reported the smooch animations to be misaligned when initiated.

1.3.: Entering dialogue with a non-main character companion sometimes triggers a simultaneous conversation using the main character. After the dialogue is completed, the game will automatically fail the whole party on the dice roll that was required for the conversation, entering the party into combat.

1.4.: After initiating combat with Minthara in the Goblin Camp, she gets to her turn and idles indefinitely, softlocking the game.

1.5.: Killing all three Goblin Leaders (if Minthara is last or knocked out) sometimes does not complete the “Kill the Goblin Leaders” quest.
1.6.: Players are unable to switch to another companion for “lockpicking” as the “main character” will always be the one to appear on the lockpicking screen. This sometimes extends to other activities, making it impossible to select other companions (Currently seems to be a PS5 only issue).
1.7.: Destroying the steel watch foundry in any way causes Duke Ravengard to aggro onto you when you get back to camp, which in turn forces Wyll to leave your party (triggered by using “knock '' on the boss door or pick locking it).
This also makes all civilians aggro as they are convinced that you are “trespassing”, making the whole game a huge red aggro zone (including your own camp). Not even reloading to an old save seems to fix this issue.

1.8.: If you kill Isobel as the Dark Urge and then kill the shadow harpers, Jahira will insist that you talk to Isobel still, until the Shadowfell is completed.

1.9.: In Act 2, after agreeing to meet Halsin at the Portal, he gets stuck on a door on the way there, not being able to move to the portal. Sometimes after entering the portal he will fail to come back out, even after the required turns are completed.

1.10.: When rescuing Minthara, after you leave Moonrise tower she initiates the dialogue with you, she will appear as one of your companions instead. No sound file plays and the only option you get to send her to camp is (“end”).
Minthara seems completely broken in general at this point. Might be related to her recruitment bug. This also seems to happen with other NPCs/Companions.

1.11.: When any hirelings or companions are chosen to replace an existing companion using the new “auto choose who to replace” system, it will just not give blank options called “nothing” instead of companion names. This also results in the game giving you “backpacks” continuously, every time you make a long rest or change regions. These backpacks are usually given to you when a companion permanently leaves your party, containing their held items.

1.12.: After choosing the above mentioned “nothing” option, the game starts putting empty backpacks into your main character's inventory.

1.13.: After removing a spell from a companion, the “common” spells tab disappears. You can currently fix this with a reload.

1.14.: After killing Kethric, if you helped Flaming Fist Marcus kidnap Isobel, he will still hang around in Moonrise tower, talking to you as if nothing happened.

1.15.: Mintharas recruitment has not changed, as the patch notes state. It is still as broken as ever. She still stands around if you take a long rest without killing all three goblin leaders. If she is not knocked out again, she will never go to Moonrise Towers. Whatever the supposed changes were, we could not trigger them in any way (also see point 4.21 for more info).

1.16.: In Act 3, Minthara is stuck on a single line of dialogue, making it impossible to initiate a conversation with her about anything else. Screenshot about the issue and the line of dialogue can be found below.

Game Crash Related
2.1.: Selling certain items to Shops will crash the game. An item that currently reproduces this bug with a 100% chance is: “Scroll of Protection from Energy”. This only seems to happen if the shop has not fully loaded in, which is another new issue that came with patch 6.0. This issue still persists if trading in “Barter Mode”, regardless of shop state. In order to avoid this, wait for the shop to fully load in its stock and use the “trade" option instead of using the “barter” option - Fixed as of Hotfix 18.
2.2.: After some time, the game crashes on the next conversation. The time varies, which conversation does not seem to matter.

2.3.: If a shop fails to load in its stock, it will simply crash. This also applies to inventories the player is trying to thieve out of.

2.4.: If Roah Moonglow dies in Act 3 (Guild Hideout, Minsc scene), you lose the ability to interact with anything. This also happens if you knock her out. Act 1 and Act 2 seem to have the same issue.

2.5.: Entering the “Lower City” in Act 3 disables all interactions with objects and companions, making it impossible to switch between them or interact with objects. Unsure of the reason, multiple reports since 6.0. Also listed at point (4.14) In more detail. The Lower City seems to be one of the worst examples..

2.6.: Killing Lann Tarv in Moonrise Tower before the raid of the tower will crash the game. Knocking him out will not solve this issue either.

2.7.: Killing the Hag in act 1 and trying to loot her body will sometimes result in a game crash.
2.8.: Turning on the “Repelling Blast” passive on Eldritch Blast has a tendency to crash the game.

Visual Bugs
3.1.: When opening shops, the stock of the shop shows up as invisible. After a while it starts appearing, sometimes crashing the game as it loads in.

3.2.: During conversations where the “main character” is forced to be on the screen, the bottom of the screen has a huge black line going through it, covering about half of the screen.

3.3.: When opening the “Shared Inventory” (TAB button), the items in each companion's inventory will sometimes fail to load, leading to a crash. If it does not crash, it will be extremely delayed on showing the actual items (similar to the shop issue). If you are using mods, you will need to update your Improved UI mod and see if it fixes the issue. There is a chance that it will. You need to fully delete the mod from the mods folder and re-download the new version.
Issue is known to pop up on fully vanilla saves, in which case we do not have a solution for you.

3.4.: Dror Ragzlins Legendary Action shows up as “Not Found” when examined.

3.5.: The gate at Wyrms Rock Castle in Act 3 sometimes appears open, despite being closed, creating an invisible wall. You can still fly around this wall as normal, as if the gate was closed.

3.6.: Blocky shadows seem to be appearing after Patch 6.0, even after checking/fixing all external sources that could lead to this issue.

3.7.: Wyll and other dark haired companions lose their dark hair and instead convert to blonde hair if you get too close to them. If you go far away from them, it reverts back to black/dark.

3.8.: Hovering over the “Continue” button in the main menu when playing Honour Mode will display the difficulty as “Tactician”.

3.9.: Sometimes after respeccing a character, they will go bald. Picture attached at the bottom for context.

3.10.: Shadowhearts portrait fails to transition from her black hair portrait to the white hair version if you chose the Selune path with her in Act 2. She will still show up with her white hair on her person, it's just the portrait that is bugged.

3.11.: Several lighting related bugs, most of them resulting in characters/npcs/items becoming illuminated if you go too close. Screenshot examples for both NPCs and Player Characters/Items below (also see 3.7).

3.12.: After the release of Patch 6.0, the “action bar” fails to load icons properly. Example screenshot found below.

3.13.: Companions will sometimes have the (!) mark above their heads, even when they have no active new conversation triggers. This persists even after long resting or travelling between areas (Act 1 - Act 2, etc). Screenshot below.
This seems to impede certain quest completions completely, essentially soft locking them. More on this below.
3.14.: The numerical representations are missing on the character creation sliders. This prevents you from setting exact values as you can only guess at what values are based on the position of the slider. Screenshot below.
3.15.: Some of the new “smooch” animations are severely misaligned with the player character (screenshots below).

Functionality
4.1.: The Button at the bottom of the trade screen states “Not Found” instead of “Trade” or “Barter” like before.

4.2.: Elevators will sometimes fail to detect player characters on them, dropping them into the void as they start moving.

4.3.: In the Shar Temple, using the Orbs to open the door to the Shadow Domain consumes all orbs at once, making it impossible to open the door without the spell “Knock”.

4.4.: Sometimes when trying to disarm traps or lockpick chests, the game deletes the option to do so.

4.5.: The “Travellers Chest” will no longer open by simply interacting with it. The button at the bottom left corner of the screen (chest icon) will still open it however (maybe this chest was supposed to be deleted with the release of the new interface).

4.6.: With the update to the “Travellers Chest” interface, players are no longer able to send items directly to companions idling at the campsite.

4.7.: You can no longer sell items in bulk via the “barte/trader” function in shops. The “ingredients” filter is now missing from the shop interface.

4.8.: After quicksaving, the game will continuously state: “Unconfirmed character changes were not saved.”

4.9.: Since the 6.0 update, in multiple instances, the game simply soft locks when certain NPCs are to take their turns. In 5.0 these NPCs would skip their turns in order to prevent a full game soft lock. This seems not to be the case in 6.0 anymore.
Example NPC(s): Bulren, Minthara (grove fight, full soft lock), named goblins in the Goblin Camp and many more. Had reports from all 3 acts of the game.

4.10.: The “Venture Forth” button seems to be broken for controller users in Local Co-Op mode (might or might not be a mod issue, Improved UI)

4.11.: During Kethics first fight (top of the tower), if a character is in conversation with him, attacking him on another character that is not part of the conversation will no longer trigger his aggression reply.

4.12.: During Kethrics first fight (top of the tower), if he is reduced to 0 HP in the above mentioned way, he will no longer trigger the tentacle cutscene. This will result in a soft lock, you will not be able to trigger the cutscene in any way.

4.13.: Slaying Gortash in Act 3 can result in him falling under the terrain, taking his netherstone with him, softlocking the game. The player that reported this issue also stated that none of the NPCs would react in the fight other than Gortash, acting as if the fight had not started at all.

4.14.: Loading into the game after the 6.0 update can result in being unable to click anything on the menu screen or interact with NPCs or objects. A possible workaround for this is switching to a controller, as soon as you switch back the issue also returns. This will only fix the main menu issue, not the NPCs or objects.

4.15.: The new “Camp Chest” button fails to appear outside of camp on old saves.

4.16.: After slaying Grim in the Adamantine Forge, the crucible can no longer be interacted with. This way you are unable to forge a second piece of gear.

4.17.: During the Cazador fight in Act 3, killing all his minions and the boss himself will no longer end the combat. The only way to end the combat state is to kill one of the sacrifices, which results in a failed ritual and no potential ascension for Astorian.
Potential fix: In order to end the combat without killing any spawn to let Astarion ascend, you have to have your entire party dash back up the stairs into the room where you meet the locked up spawns in the cells. Once the characters reach far enough past the doorway, they exit combat individually.
4.18.: Patch 5 Hotfix 2,4,5, and 6 (Data folder) fails to delete themselves after patching to Patch 6, resulting in users not being able to access their game and getting stuck on the game start menu. Screenshot included below.

4.19.: After completing the game on Honour Mode (unmodded), the game fails to grant you the achievement, robbing you of your golden dice. The only way to fix this right now is by installing the “Achievement enabler”.

4.20.: After sitting down with Karlac for a nice dinner, the game fails to grant you the achievement (“Karlachs Hot Date”). The only way to fix this right now is by installing the “Achievement enabler”.

4.21.: After knocking out Minthara in the Goblin Camp and resting (long rest), instead of her getting back on her feet with 1 HP as intended, she will disappear. This will cause the “Kill the Goblin Leaders” quest to count as completed, but the Thieflings, Zevlor and Halsin will not initiate the departure event, leading to a soft lock of the Thiefling/Halsin questlines (also see the issue listed under 1.15 for more info).

4.22.: When using the “Boots of Speed”, using the “Click Heels” action fails to impose disadvantage on attack rolls against the player, despite it stating that it would in the tooltip.

4.23.: If you drag the gold stack from a merchant's inventory into the “barter screen” and then proceed to remove it via the right click option, next time you open the shop (after a long rest), it will have a duplicate stack of gold. This also causes gold to show up in an invisible state if using the TRADE OPTION. If using the BARTER option, the gold can still be duplicated but will not show up in the shop interface - New issue as of Hotfix 18.

4.24.: Putting out the torches outside of the Last Light Inn to summon the Shadow Hounds will summon Isobel outside of the Last Light Inn, making her destroy the protective barrier around the inn, resulting in everyone getting shadow cursed. The curse hits them as soon as you fast travel to the inn.

4.25.: Pinging the portrait of invisible enemies (top of the screen) will reveal their location, making invisibility on enemies completely useless.

4.26.: Companions are prone to getting stuck in limbo (even in death plains) after combat ends as long as they did not fully perish before the combat encounter ended, making it impossible to revive them (bug was present in 5.X, not as rampant as it is now). No blue orbs will spawn this way either. They are essentially waiting for you to save them, even if they fell under the map (screenshot available below).

4.26.: After slaying Great Wyrm Ansur you will be prompted to talk to Wyll, which you will be unable to do because of the bug mentioned under (3.13).
This will essentially soft lock the quest.

4.27.: Dragging Gortash out of his boss arena (outside the castle) will crash your game. Fighting him in his boss room still works as intended.

4.28.: Friendly NPCs slipping on player made surfaces (like ice, acid, etc) will now turn temporarily hostile towards the player, even if it was them that ran into the surface.

4.29.: Any friendly companions using a “Cutting Word” reaction to re-roll a spell that was cast by a friendly ally that is not part of the party (and then failing said spell anyway, despite the re-roll) will result in that ally turning hostile towards you.
Example: Re-rolling the command spell cast by the female ally in the Owlbear fight via the “Cutting Words” reaction.

4.30.: Picking up the 3rd Netherstone will sometimes fail to update the quest, locking you out of progressing to the end of the game.

4.31.: If Raphael cannot talk to you (or you attack him while he is in a conversation with one of your characters) before progressing into another area (example would be the Mountain Pass), he will appear in your camp on the forced long rest that takes place. If you silence him via the “Silence” spell, his teleport will stop working, letting you kill him (knock him out). You can then loot the Hell Dusk Armour off his body, which you are not supposed to have before Act 3. Creative, but I would still class it as a bug.

4.32.: Some saves created before 6.0 are corrupted upon launching the game, making them completely unplayable. Screenshot of this can be found below.

4.33.: If you break your Oath as a paladin, the Oathbreaker Paladin will no longer show up in camp, no matter how many times you long rest.

4.34.: Players are reporting being able to change setting in Custom Mode after continuing the game in dishonour (failing an Honour Mode run). This should not be possible. The only setting you should be able to change is Karmic Dice.

4.35.: After Patch 6.0 the game likes to assign the status “Enemy of Justice'' to the player. This status fails to be removed properly if conditions are met, resulting in a permanent aggro state from civilians and NPCs. A good example is laid out in the listing under point 1.7. These issues may or may not be connected as the Steelwatch Factory triggers this issue even without assigning the “Enemy of Justice'' status.

4.36.: After killing the Owlbear parent(s) in Act 1, the cub stays aggressive (even if the absolutists are dead) and will not play the cutscene where you get the option to let it live.

4.37.: Heavy Adamantite Plate fails to impose the “Not Critical Hit” rule on enemies (screenshots below).

4.38.: “Drag n Drop” to the middle part of the barter window now has to be done to an empty tile, meaning bartering with multiple multi stacked items is extremely annoying.

4.39.: We have lost the ability to “ctrl click or shift click” in order to select multiple items in the barter window since the release of the new interface.

4.40.: The “Stillness of Mind” passive ability (you gain this at level 7 monk) cannot be freely turned off using the “Passives” bar, as all other passives can be, leading to players losing their actions, making level 7 monk undesirable.

4.41.: When you remove a companion from the group and have them hide, the rest of the group still hides with you, despite them not being part of the party.

A personal note from Peach:

Patch 6.0 is by far the most broken the game has been since I can remember. I started playing when it was in version 2.0. Almost everything that has been added and listed in the patch notes released in a broken state, not to mention that these new features broke other parts of the game, ones that previously worked without any issue.

I do not claim to understand just how much this was playtested before release, but if I can come across most of these bugs in the first hour of my playthru, Larian should also be able to, especially with how much more resources they hold.

I like Larian but this patch is a travesty. I am sure it was pushed with good intentions, but if I could, I would throw out all of the 6.0 features and revert to 5.0 in a heartbeat.
Please do not throw the good name of this game into the trash by pushing half baked updates like this, I am very disappointed and sad about the state of the game in 6.0.

I would much rather you push back a patch by a week, or even two, as long as it results in a better experience for your players, one without major issues.

I have faith in you guys and I absolutely adore your game. I hope that this document will help you remedy some of the issues that came with the 6.0 update
